Make that almost 6 decades.

1960s: Alabama (4), OM (3), LSU (1), Tenn(2), Georgia (2)

1970s: Alabama (8), LSU (1), Georgia (1)

1980s: Auburn (4), Georgia (3), Alabama (2), LSU (2), Tennessee (2)

1990s: Florida (5), Tennessee (3), Alabama (2)

2000s: Florida (3), LSU (3), Georgia (2), Alabama (1), Auburn (1)

2010s: Alabama (5), Auburn (2), Georgia (1), LSU (1)

TOTAL SINCE THE 1960s:

22- Alabama (total 27)
9- Georgia (13)
8- LSU (11)
8- Florida (8)
7- Tennessee (13)
7- Auburn (8)

3- OM (the last little 8 team), 1963, 56 years ago, a little more than half a century. (6)

Thx for the update. Kind of surprised a Georgia fan would use 39 years as a timeframe for anything but good on ya.

what on earth could have prompted you to pick that time frame?

...The fact that it was the first of now soon-to-be four consecutive decades with no champion outside the Big 6.

Sounds like someone's mad we wrecked the party

There was no "party" to crash in 1976 because there was no Big 6.

When Kentucky won a title in the 1970s (retroactively), Florida had never won the SEC. Auburn was nearly two decades removed from their last SEC Championship....

Ole Miss (5) and Georgia Tech (2) had also won SEC Titles during the previous 25 years.

The SEC was a lot different back then. There were programs that were more elite, but there was also a lot more parity from year to year.
