ALABAMA'S SUPERSTAR QB IN WAITING (BR)
Meet Bryce Young, the top quarterback recruit in the class of 2020 and Alabama freshman many believe can follow in Tua Tagovailoa's footsteps.

It was a mistake to bench Tua even in his Freshmen season. I believe even Saban feels that, it almost cost us a title. If Young is even better than Tua, this is a no-brainer.
I want to see Bryce as the starter. If you start Mac, Bryce is gone, and you just don’t let that happen.

No, it wasn't a mistake. Kirby and Georgia didn't prepare for Tua and it's why we were able to unsettle them and comeback.
It's no different as the next season when Kirby had them prepared for Tua and not Jalen, then we brought Jalen in and he was killing them.
Just be happy God allowed things to lineup the way they did.

Kirby said UGA prepared a lot for Tua.

Kirby's been known to lie too.

I don't recall Tua being benched in his freshman season. He didn't START, but that's a completely different situation.

That's a might big "if," hombre. Young has played a grand total of zero snaps, significant or otherwise, at the college level. We have no idea how good he will be.

You have no basis whatsoever for either part of this statement. In fact, when Young committed, there was a very good chance Tua would return for his senior season, and Young knew that. I don't know the young man, but he apparently has no issue learning the ropes for a year before being handed the keys full-time.
On the flip side, if you start Bryce, our QB room DOES empty out. Maybe we still have Tyson -- MAYBE -- but that will be it. You want our entire 2020 (and maybe 2021) season to sink or swim based on the health of a completely unproven-at-this-level, 195-pound quarterback?

Dude will say anything to save face or save his own arse. That's the kind of character he has shown at Georgia.

The Alabama football program released a powerful video on Thursday afternoon, which was written by senior offensive tackle Alex Leatherwood, a preseason All-America selection.
Leatherwood, several of his Crimson Tide teammates and head coach Nick Saban read the tackle's statement that addressed the current issue of racial injustice in the United States.quote:

The Alabama football team posted a video on social media (seen below) with a pointed message on racial injustice.
The 2-minute, 3-second clip shared on the team’s official Twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages featured a diverse group of players and Nick Saban reading an essay by Crimson Tide offensive lineman Alex Leatherwood.
“In this moment in history, we can’t be silent,” read the tweet that accompanied the video.
The idea came from a number of conversations in the past few weeks following the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis. The football program held video calls with prominent Black voices including Condoleezza Rice, Charles Barkley and Stephen A. Smith and their message was clear: use your platform for positive change.
The leadership group of veteran players and other star players filmed their parts on Wednesday, and it was edited for release early Thursday afternoon.
The message was one of unity, honoring the past and building a better future for race relations. It calls for equality and the end of brutality and ended with a simple message repeated by several players and appeared on the screen.
“All lives can’t matter until black lives matter,” it read.

Alabama adds former Mississippi State, TCU walk-on QB
quote:
Former Mississippi State and TCU quarterback Logan Burnett is transferring to Alabama, he announced Thursday evening for what will be his final season of collegiate eligibility.
The Pelham, Ala., native spent the last four seasons in Starkville, Miss., before he entered the NCAA transfer portal in November and chose to transfer to TCU in early January as a graduate transfer. After spending only a few months on campus, Burnett entered the transfer portal again in mid-April and ultimately settled on the Crimson Tide on Thursday, June 25.
During his time at Mississippi State, Burnett appeared in six games, two apiece in the 2017-19 seasons. He completed both of his career pass attempts for a combined 33 yards.

That could also be a great recruiting tool!

I agree. Bama's brotherhood culture already has a very favorable impact on recruiting. And the video and responses to it will provide more visibility of it.
