Surge, out of all of the DE/OLB types coming this spring and or fall, who stands out the most? Who is the alpha that may get in there and take a job?
Will Anderson really showed out against All-American competition last week. Chris Braswell flashed a lot too. Sanders and Robinson are very talented as well. There's gonna be some stiff competition at OLB among the new guys, along with Parks, Mwikuta and Kevin Harris.

Hmm, that article certainly didn't close any doors. He handled it well but it certainly isn't a definitive statement that he's staying or leaving.

Sounds like Brady with his stock riding high and hiring an agent is all set to entertain offers.

So pretty much all of the rumors and inside information was dead wrong

Sucks, I wish we brought Tosh back.

Not necessarily. Saban and Tosh might've talked about him potentially returning as a position coach. Iirc, that's about all that was said about it. I dont think anyone really said he was likely to return to Bama. The final outcome of things like recruiting and coaching changes aren't very predictable.

What's really dead wrong is people getting their own hopes up too high based on nothing more than "insider" chatter about their being some initial discussion and interest and then calling out the messenger(s) as being wrong, fos fraud(s) out of disappointment and anger that their hopes weren't fulfilled. All that accomplishes is convincing people to quit sharing "inside info" they get. For example, some posters on this board recently succeeded in cinvincing Boz to quit sharing anything else. And those who did it will downvote this post.

Dan Quinn is a Saban guy. Saban and Tosh could've spoken about him working for Quinn. Quinn may have called Saban for his opinion about Tosh, etc.

I think Chris Allen might be Jack1.

He's mean enough to be that guy, but his knee might not allow him to do it yet.

You could see he lost a step this season. I loved him coming out of high school and I hope he contributes on a large scale next season.

Yeah, in response to Commander Data's same question in the recruiting thread I mentioned that Allen may have the inside track to be one of the starting OLBs.

It seemed like he got too heavy this season. This season for him reminded me of when Hightower came back from his injury, looked a step slow then the next season he exploded. Hopefully the same for Allen.

I've got high hopes for Allen. He looks so good on the hoof. I hope he tears people up in 2020.

Been pulling for the kid for two years . Favorite recruit in his class . I wished they had given him a shot at ILB this year TBH to get him on the field
