Does the additions of Tommy Stevens and Isaiah Zuber change your predictions for MSU?

I've seen the media consensus of 7-5 5th in the West before and after these additions. So the media is saying that it doesn't matter who starts at QB nor does it matter that the leading receiver for Kansas State(who nearly doubled our leading receiver in yards and catches last year) are at MSU.
I do believe Zuber is bigger than Stevens just simply because we needed a WR who could catch. As much as Fitzgerald was at fault for not being an accurate QB, none of the WRs could catch his best passes. And honestly Zuber has proved that he will be an immediate impact unlike Zuber.
However best case scenario if Stevens works out I think States ceiling is much higher than is projected by most(I could realistically see 10 if Stevens and Zuber work out with a top 10 defense). If he doesn't, I do think State struggles again and we're probably looking at 5-6 wins.
I guess State is starting to become intriguing to me because I think they have a wider range of wins and losses than most SEC teams.

I was at 7-5 before the transfers. I think they are worth at least one win.

Stephen Guidry and Osirus Mitchell are only going to be better this year as WR’s. Add a guy like Zuber who is a legit WR and that opens up a lot of potential. Now, if Tommy Stevens turns out to be a more accurate passer than the other QB’s on the roster then I could actually see an extra couple of wins.

I'm in wait-and-see mode.
I'm a bit concerned Joe couldn't develop one of the other QBs, and am hesitant to proclaim some new person who has yet to play a snap for us as a savior.
Zuber was a good get though. I am happy the coaching staff went out and tried to address positions of need.
It solidifies 7-5 for me, with a better chance of getting to 8 (I would still bet on 7)

Mullen could hardly develop KeyT. Had a 49% completion percentage when he left

Remember. KT in the bowl game was great because of his running, not his passing.
Mullen left MSU great except for the shitshow of WRs and for that matter the QB situation.
And this isn't the first time he did that. See the shite show of an OL we had a few years ago.
We haven't had even subpar WR play since 2015, and that was when Mullen and Hevesy gave us the shittiest OL they could find.

Roles are reversed. We have a top tier offensive line with trash wide receivers

We have a more favorable schedule this year. 8-4 and hopefully a bowl win for 9-4

If Moorhead wasn’t the coach I would have a little bit of hope for this season. But after watching his poor management of games and personnel I have ZERO faith in him. He won’t have the #1 defense in the country to bail him out this year.

we will have a top 15 more than likely top 10 defense this year.

He doesn't need a top 10 defense to win 10. He won the Big Ten with the #37 at Penn State.
As far as Fitz goes he was just an abysmal QB all around and everyone outside of MSU will tell you that.
The ceiling is very high if Tommy Boy if he is all and more he is cracked up to be

Not that this is any of my business, I will say that it does tremendously change the outlook.
- Fitz in Mullen's scheme was great. However the reads for the QB are different in Moorhead's system and late reads create havoc for everybody. The OL is put at a disadvantage, the QB is put at a disadvantage. The QB has to make up for seeing it late and generally forces it. It puts the WRs at disadvantage.... interrupting timing. A forced hard ball into a tight window etc...
- the Ms ST wrs and the TE are very serviceable. Go back and watch some of the hard catches Mitchell has to make. Hill out of the backfield...
- With Stevens, you get improvement in decision and the amount of time it takes to make that decision. That eliminates those issues above.
- Add in Zuber means depth and more weapons on the field at the same time.
- that opens the run and we all know that Hill and Stevens can run.
To me, Here is what you are looking at:
- Ragin Cajuns... HUGE win. But look. That's a veteran team and the DL is going to be tested. You will see what you have on the DL early.
- USM.. W
- KSU.. Beat them on the road last year, and improvement on the OL and QB opens it up. My guess 56-21
- UK.. Lost everything that made them last year. Not even a battle
That's 4-0 going into AU
- Auburn... WIN...Don't believe the hype. MS St OL over their DL all day. The TE should have a massive day too.
BYE week to prepare for UT
- UT will be improved, but nowhere near able to compete. WIN
That's 6-0.
- LSU.... First test in my opinion. I think your defense will make the plays they need to win this.. 35-21ish
7-0
That leaves 4 SEC games.. Ole Miss.. Blow out. TAMU- Not sure. Pigs.. blow out. Bama.. Loss.
That's 10-1 or 9-2...
Now that's if no injuries occur at DT and the QB stays healthy. If KT plays in a starting roll.... You don't beat LSU, you Don't beat Tamu. Auburn a Toss up.

If we go 9-3 or 10-2 that would be a miracle.
