From the wife of the Stanford baseball coach (who happens to be an accomplished writer)

LINK /

"I kinda think that if there is ever to actually be a Rapture, a spontaneous rising of thousands of people into the sky, it will happen at The Dude. The energy of 13,000 people who love their team, love every one of their boys fiercely, is hard to imagine unless you are there. The chanting, the music, the wave, the cloud of smoke across the entire outfield, it is unrelenting. It is never quiet there. It is a roar of joy and fun. I felt like I was at a megachurch and Jake Mangum was the preacher"

Thank You Mrs. Esquer

I thought you were going poli on me there at first.

I didn't read the whole article yet, but just skimmed it, and it is fantastic and I want to see a game there badly.

Kind of sad to live in an area where a college baseball game is the most exciting thing going on so that it draws 13,000 and the crowd is actually electric. Baseball is for relaxing and sitting still while you get drink off beer. Like just a notch above golf. Not for cheering like hooligans with nothing better to do
