Is it just me or do we all really miss Uncle Verne on SEC on CBS and therefore should convince him to come back?

I miss his voice. His actual commentary not so much. Nessler is great though. We didn’t replace Verne with some scrub.

He sucked big time. Never knew what was actually happening in the game. Butchered players names. And openly rooted for Alabama to win. frick him. He should have been gone long ago.

I loved Verne...his constant butchering of player names and facts as well as his random arse brain farts made it entertaining.
Nessler is good obviously but not as funny or entertaining.

Never understood the disgust for ole Verne...so what if he got a few names wrong...tbf have you seen some of these dude's names nowadays?
In all seriousness I did like Verne. His voice was the voice of College Football in the 2000s. It's all good, though...I'm a pretty big fan of big head Nessler as well. He's really talented.

Verne was great. He was guaranteed to mess up or mispronounce a players name at least 5 times a game but he was always entertaining. On the other hand, I can't stand Gary and the way he talks to the tv audience like we've never watched a football game before.

Verne was the GOAT...Nessler is good too but hearing Verne’s voice on the intro of a CBS always got my blood flowing.
