Haven’t followed it too closely, but it looks like the UT/A&M battle is for a stud.
Not a good look for Arkansas’s future QB.

Bryce Young flipping to Alabama soon.

Weird that 247 had rave reviews on Anthony Richardson for both days, ranked him #6 on day 1 and #10 on day 2, then he doesn’t make this list.

From TA
- Elite 11 wrapped up today. Haynes King was again very impressive. I had one seasoned observer tell me Haynes was without a doubt the top guy in attendance. This is a guy I trust and who has no Texas A&M, Tennessee, or Longview/Haynes King tint. Overall the reviews have been positive with his athleticism and decision making drawing the highest marks
LSU commit TJ Finley ripped one of the best balls I saw all the last two days during 7on7 drills. He put it on a line right over the shoulder of the defender and into the hands of his WR for a TD. I didn't see everything but liked what I saw from him the last two days. Big arm and he was pretty accurate.
- Arkansas commit Chandler Morris struggled a little bit during 7on7. He threw two picks to start his 7on7 drill. He did bounce back nicely with a couple of TDs

The 1st day, Luke Doty was 4th in a day of only tepid individual drills. The 2nd day (today), a sort of defense was applied with actual receivers, and Doty was 2nd.
Now starting tomorrow, the other star players will join for the 7-on-7 competitions, the closest The Opening gets to actual real football, and Doty will be able to fully show his skill sets. He's positioned himself nicely....

Who is the favorite for King right now?

Toss up between A&M & UT.

Probably gonna be A&Ms.
He seems like he's gonna be a good QB. I'd assume coaches would want him to bulk up a bit more before going against SEC defenses.

That was really odd that they had him ranked high given this quote:
quote:
"Richardson was predictably maybe the most natural athlete in the scramble drill and he’s very capable of ripping off some impressive throws but he can just as easily skip one into the dirt."
By most accounts, it was a day where he showed some flashes but next to no consistency... Not terribly surprising to see him fall down the list once they had to visually stack rank them. Sounds like he's a good athlete though, which is Mullen's primary need at the QB position, no?

Interested to see if Doty holds on for the Gamecocks, as he's definitely been performing well. Curious if they end up having to battle off any other programs or not given that he's an in-state kid. My guess is he sticks, but definitely drawing attention to himself it would seem.

The surprise was how well he performed throwing the ball the first two days. Has some Florida fans really excited, because any mechanical problems (that lead to inconsistency) will be fixed by Mullen once it’s time for him to come in and play at UF.
But yes, he’s mostly known for his athleticism. 6’4 225 lb and apparently ran a 4.5 forty yard dash. Jason Higdon has reported that the staff sees him being a Cam Newton-type athlete at QB with perhaps a better arm as a high schooler. High praise, for sure.

I'm pretty sure there are 22 or so participants. So, 11th isn't bad at all.

I guess he didn’t crack the top 11.

Guess the LSU RB is misinformed

The minor blurb from Texags was favorable.

Personally I’m still baffled at LSUs QB recruiting approach

Bryce was outplayed by both Vandergriff and the Ohio state commit. Bryce did win the skills competition because he hit the two targets . Vandergriff steam won’t he 7 on 7 competition after losing the first game. Ohio states qb was the mvp
Also hearing if Bryce does decommit it’s Bama .
