Hate maybe too strong of a word but urge to beat a certain team maybe. Iknow Texas is no.1 but where does Baylor, t tech, tcu, sum, Houston, rice etc. fall in terms of how good it feels to kick a certain teams arse in any sport?
If this needs to be moved to the msb so be it wasn’t for sure where to post this

It differs person to person and over time. Currently here is how they rank for me.
1. Tu (Arch rival)
2. BU (evil frickers)
3. TTU/TCU (Tech was a very strong 2 10-15 years ago, TCU skyrocketed after baseball the last several years)
5. UH/Rice (little hate from me here. I like them to do well generally. Minor rice baseball hate, but they’ve fallen off)
7. SMU (no hate, have family that went there)
8. UTEP, Sam, UNT, Tx St, etc (these schools don’t cross my mind)

First, let me just explain the difference between a rival and an enemy.
You don't want your rivals dead. You just want to beat them so you can talk shite over a beer.
As Rivalries go:
1. Baylor
2. Tech
3. TCU
4. Cougar High
5. SMU
6. pick'em. Don't really matter after that.
I respect Rice and my old man went to UNT, so....
We only have one enemy. I'll leave it at that.

Agree with Kaiser on nomenclature -
1. Tech (was at the field goal incident game)
2. Baylor (evil program - sniveling toadies of the Longhorns)
3. Others
As for one of the Others, let me say this fall I will openly and unashamedly root for LSU.

Baylor is in a category with Penn State in that both of their programs supported and promoted rape.
Also, their butthurt was so strong, they actually killed an A&M cadet in the 20's. In response, the Cadet Corps loaded up a cannon on a train car and headed for Waco. The Texas Rangers had to stop them enroute.

Baylor is probably our oldest TRUE rival.

Recently learned about Baylor doing this to mock A&N:

I’ve learned that the SEC looks at rivalries differently than we do.
To SEC schools, it’s all about win/loss records.
But to us it runs much deeper.
Imagine a conference comprised entirely (minus Arkansas) of schools within your own state.
None of y’all can relate, so you compare it to what you know (totally understandable).
In Texas we grow up next door to folks who will eventually scatter across the state for school.
We’re neighbors, we’re colleagues, we worship together, our kiddos are in the same schools ... the rivalries are completely different.
We own Baylor, for example, yet they’re a big rival.
To answer your question, my ranking:
1. UTex
2. Baylor
3. Texas Tech
4. TCU/SMU
5. UH
6. Rice

Baylor is a clear number 2 and there’s a big drop to Tech. But I’ve found myself rooting for Tech in certain situations since we left, I could never see myself doing that for Texas or Baylor
After those 3 I’m completely indifferent. I generally support UH and Rice as long as it doesn’t interfere with A&M

Everyone hates Baylor. Medcalf had a poll on Twitter a few weeks ago asking who you would want kicked out of your conference. The Big 12 votes were like 1,000 for Baylor and 0 for everyone else

This. You can own someone and still consider them a rival. Look at TCU. We have something like 20+ wins in a row.

Baylor has never been a program that can stand on its own.
They literally needed government intervention (Texas Governor and Lieutenant Governor) to enter the Big 12.
Since 2011-2012 conference realignment, TCU has surpassed Baylor in pretty much every men's sport, including basketball.

Do you not think there are Vandy and UcheaT alumni living on the same street, going to the same church, working in the same offices in Nashville?
Do you think day cares in Jackson are segregated between the Ole Miss and Mississippi State?
Your post displays the sanctimonious bullshite that I've come to expect from aTm.

There’s a difference between having an in-state rival and an entire conference of in-state rivals.
Not sure why this triggered you; no offense was intended.
In no way did I say Texas A&M was better.
I explained why rivalries, to us, go beyond win/loss records.
Peace.

True. She didn’t. But I will.
Texas A&M is better.
Deal with it.
