The OL has to have a mean streak. I don't think anyone really remembers Conrad Dobler, mean and nasty. Dobler
Oh yea, I remember Dobler. Voted the dirtiest player in pro football multiple times. Spat on Joe Greene, kicked Merlin Olsen in the head, and punched Bill Bergy when he was on the ground. Not the biggest of the time, either...6-3, 254 pounds.

Don't sing it - bring it.
Holding the CFP trophy over your head speaks infinitely louder than any preseason happy talk.
Don't get me wrong - I want our guys to feel like they're the best at what they do, but too much talk and not enough delivery end up in the debacle leading up to the Sugar Bowl loss.

I love Mark Richt and what he did for us but he brought a 1990s coaching philosophy and never updated with the rest of CFB.

CMR's coaching philosophy was kind of a mystery to me when he first arrived here, too....Because he was the architect of some of the most prolific offenses in CFB history at FSU, I really expected him to come in here and sling the ball all over the yard instead of lining up in a Pro-I formation and stressing a run-first kind of offense.

Hard to argue.Strange,FSU always cleaned up in recruiting in the 90's and I really
have no idea if OL or the LOS was a big priority for them.

We’ve got all the stars one could want on the OL, why the hell couldnt we punch it in vs the Gators?

Because assignments kept getting missed. There were a couple of plays on that drive where both Zuniga and Polite were completely unblocked and made the tackle....or, they just beat their men on those particular plays. When the replay was shown, however....it just looked like nobody blocked them.

Polite was unblocked by design.
Running the same unsuccessful play twice was dumb.
