All five OL starters back from a line that got better as the year went on. One of them projected to go in the first round. 3 or 4 of them 5th year players and 4 of the seniors. Couple more who project to be drafted. Good, solid OL coach.
All 3 of he DL's are back (One was a co-reg) from a line that was tough last year. Two of them are pre-season AA's and both are said to be the best at their positions in the SEC. All are 4th year guys. Two would have been drafted last year but choose to stay. What else?

I would be disappointed if you did. LOL!

I have no worries about DL but as far as the offense goes...the OL was the main reason for the ineffectiveness of the offense last year. They did improve as the season went on, but outside of the bowl game, did absolutely nothing to make me say they would be one of the best groups in the country. The one being projected as an early draft pick is based mostly on potential. He hasn't played a whole lot of football prior to last season, but has prototypical size combined with good athleticism. With that said, he is probably the best one we have and that's not saying a lot. He got whipped like a drum early and often last year. The other highly rated guys coming out of HS still have lots to improve to show anything. Not to mention two of those 4* guys have serious injury histories.
They definitely have potential, but are a major concern for this offense. I hope they do perform to the expectations you have. If they do then it wouldn't be a surprise to make a run if the QB position turns out solid as well.

It all makes sense now.

You mean OPP rings a bell like "house of waffles"...LOL! When I went to OHS the town was considerably larger than.......Auburn. We have a class reunion coming up in Ft Walton in Sept so I'll pass your concerns along to the several physicians, attorneys (mostly retired) and ex-leaders in the Corp world, two of which reside here in Columbus. Scores of teachers and three authors including one of my old teammates/service buds and a Medal of Honor nominee who should have been recognized years ago and will be shortly since some influential people are backing it. Not bad out of a graduating class of 114 in a cotton mill town.
I'm sure none of this compares to your life's accomplishments but we're sorta proud. BTW, we'll be honoring all those who passed on. Many with a mysterious form of cancer and two of my old teammates who volunteered then died within a week of arriving in Vietnam. Guys did that back in those days. Carry on.

Auburn is due for an 11-1 or 10-2 regular season. Won’t surprise me at all.

There is not a coach in the SEC who will not get an extension if they win 12 games next year. It is a stupid question.
Posted on 5/18/19 at 9:21 pm to jimdog
He already conned his way to a raise and extension. It ain't happening again unless he wins a NC.

Get on a roll and assassinate LSU in BR.
I think there's a very small chance Auburn could get on a roll this year. But, if we do it will assuredly not include beating LSU in BR. If we win the West it will be at 11-1 with LSU dropping 2 to other SEC teams to send us to Atlanta as per usual.

Auburn has no qb and has GusBus as head coach and play caller.
7-5 should get him a raise.

I've found that people who use as many words and as much time to defend their home towns as you just did, come from a shithole town.
Edited because frick autocorrect. And Opp. And the OP.

So you're a researcher and you've spent some or all of your life interviewing folks about their home towns? And now you are posting your "findings" on this sports board? In the interest of educating us/me with the results of your research please be more specific. Were the questions insultingly accusatory and aggressive purposely to elicit certain responses. What controls other than volume of wordage did you incorporate into this research? And approximately how many people participated in your surveys? And most importantly what are your specific categories used as far as classifications. And what percentage of towns fell into those categories. For instance you say all people who "defended" their hometown by saying some decent and successful folks came from there indicated the town fell into the "SHITHOLE" cat. What are the other categories other than shithole and what responses would alert you to place that town in that particular spot. And what motivated you to get into that interesting career choice?

Auburn will lose 3 or 4 regular season games. As to whether that will be enough for Gus, I have no idea and don't much care.
