Anybody ever proposed a draft for college football?

Create a super conference, Run it just like the nfl. Each team gets to draft the high school kiddies in order, the undrafted players can then sign with teams not in the super conference. How fun would that be.

Sounds great. Force a teenager to move thousands of miles away to play at a school where he has no friends, no family, a coach he may not like, play in a scheme that his talent is not a good fit with, weather that he doesn’t like and enroll in a college that may not offer his major.

Not a bad trade off for a college scholarship. Superconference should pay players as well. 100k per year

Yeah it’s too bad they can’t find a way to let student athletes go to school of their choice on scholarship.

I actually thought about this the other day and wouldn't be shocked if we see it happen one day. In an era of pay-for-play, football at the P5 level is no longer about school loyalty, anyway. It's already a professional game underneath the surface, so why pretend it's something else? I doubt it ever happens, but I think we can all agree that we'll see drastic changes soon.

Of course, even State would pick fairly late compared to the rest of college football.
There was some sportswriter on the internet wanting to pay college players "whatever they can get, like the NFL.". I said sure, but you'll need to have a draft like the NFL, and the top college teams pick last.

What’s the point? I’m pretty sure Saban would lobby to have any rule or regulation that minimizes his competitive advantage deemed to be safety issue and demand it be repealed immediately.

Cap the head coaches salary at a million per year, now let’s see who can coach with similar rosters on every team in the superconference. Doesn’t nascar make sure each car is equal except for the driver?
