These lists always make me wonder how these stack up to Online Non-Profit colleges. The tuition costs don't include room and board costs, so it seems like it's slanted towards on-campus schools.

Sticker Price is bad.... everyone in GA can basically go to UGA free. If that was factored in, it would be impossible to not be #1.
But I understand why they don't. Not fair to schools in states without this benefit.

It says net price so they subtract the grants, scholarships etc from the cost so apparently that is factored in

I am convinced someone at the U of SC banged out the wives of all the writers at Forbes at some point in their life times.
Who and how the frick do they determine best value. What unmitigated bullshite they publish every year. It’s horseshite.

Oh look another dumb list without metrics strangely with Ivy schools at the top. Forbes is such garbage click bait these days. How about they create a list by major and then adjust it for cost of living. A financial analyst making 55k entry level in Little Rock can afford a nice 3 bedroom roomy place to live... Whereas a Harvard grad making 80k living in Boston can afford a 1 bedroom 800 square foot apartment living in a shady part of town. They both pass the CFA yet the Harvard grad had to pay 200k for an education and someone from an SEC public University had to pay 40k. The guy living in little Rock can go get a job in New York with the same company in the same amount of time and be financially better off 4 years out of school because he didn't spend 200 grand on the same finance degree. It's not rocket science but they do teach that at Mississippi State and other SEC universities. Oh and NASA ain't near an Ivy league University. It's in fricken Bama.

They list the metrics used. Sounds pretty objective. I don’t know which part South Carolina is scoring low.

I have always wondered where these Universities get their data from. I'm sure Forbes doesn't do the research for the data and it is provided by the schools. I have never answered any questionnaire asking about any of those criteria. Today Universities use this data for PR purposes and you have to wonder how skewed is the data.

Yep, its paid for advertising. A 4 year degree doesn't get you a top job, it allows you to apply for one.
