Arkansas Fans: Who is Ronnie Floyd?

I'm not actually an Arkansas fan, but supposedly Ronnie Floyd is within a week or so going to be announced as President of the Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee (Probably one of the most powerful positions in American Evangelicalism today). Source buried in this article here: LINK /
I searched him and, to my surprise, kept getting hits for Arkansas message boards like this one. I loosely picked up that he's close to Gus Malzahn, had a weird interview with Malzahn's wife, and maybe tried to bring Malzahn to Arkansas in the past couple of years. I was wondering if any Arkansas fans who keep up with this stuff could fill me in on his ties to the program and why he matters to Arkansas Football. Thanks!

Ronnie Floyd is the pastor of Cross Church. (Renamed FBC of Springdale) Megachurch pastor and many Cross Church locations across Northwest Arkansas. This won't be his first run as president of the Southern Baptist Convention. He was president a couple years ago.

Ronnie co-created a school that is an absolute joke for everything except athletics (think young earth creationism teaching). Takes a 5 minute helicopter flight between his churches for sunday masses instead of a 20 minute drive. Interrupts dinner at tables that hes not a part of.

I don’t want to say he’s a terrible human being because I don’t know the man. But from the outside he certainly seems like the typical Baptist Megachurch pastor that drives a $100k car and flies in a private jet. The Pinnacle Hills campus is just obnoxiously nice.
