Thought it may be an idea to post all things Spring Football related in a separate thread instead of cluttering up the Megathread... if not, then can move everything here to the 1st thread and just make it part of the "not recruiting" clutter

The annual A-Day Game is the 15th and final practice of the spring for the Crimson Tide and takes place at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Admission to the scrimmage will once again be free to the public.

quote:Links and summaries of all Pressers will be posted here along with observations from as many reporters who post about the practices. Rosters, projections, and as many downright wild arse speculations I can find.
March 8 will also be the first practice for Alabama's seven new assistant coaches -- as well as the first practice as coordinator for Pete Golding -- and 15 early enrollees. Coach Nick Saban will hold eight press conferences, including one after March 8's first practice.

Ben Davis changing positions?
Can he catch or could he becoming a HB?

I think it is a good thing that R. Davis and Jennings have dropped a little weight. I think it will help them with their explosiveness!!

Are you saying Mike Bernier will be back this coming year? I sure hope someone steps up and beats him out because he is not much better that Delong. I think Delong was just immature last year and will get better, but I maybe wrong. I mean he has the talent. He just needs to get right between the ears, IMO.

Maybe edge rusher for Ben Davis. Less thinking involved if he is having mental issues with the lb position.

He just needs to get on the field.
I pray that his dad has helped him understand the defense more

I thought Ben Davis was confirmed transferring on this board...?

Yes, Mike is returning and having been listed as Sr all of last year, is now listed as R-Sr. And I agree with your assessment

Boz said that he had told the coaches that he would be leaving the program.... not sure if he maybe hanging around to graduate (not sure if he is on track to get the work done and graduate in May or during the summer?)
But, short answer is "yes, Boz reported that and I believe he is working with good info"
I saw him play the edge again Mercer for a few plays and still he looked lost.

Ben Davis is a legacy and the son of Bama's all time leading tackler. He's not going to transfer until he has a degree.

That’s such a shame. I had high hopes for the kid because his dad was a tackling machine. If he was half the player his dad was, he’d at least get on the field.

What was beleieved to be true yesterday is not always true today as opinions, attitudes, and decisions change over time.
He may simply have decided to stay and possibly even encouraged to do so.

I'd like to add my name to the add weight side. I'm up about 5lbs. It isn't good weight. I'm skipping the 4th quarter program and moving on to happy hour

Put me in there too.
I’m the size of a OL

I fall into the OL who has to lose a good bit of bad #’s to even get a look. After yrs of lo carb. I went vegan on OD’ed. Now can’t get away from the carbs. I would be way over Gentle Ben’s gain

I'm glad to hear Bernier is coming back. He isn't great by any stretch, but he's a solid insurance policy should none of the new guys work out. If DeLong had shanked one more punt for like 13 yards last season, I would have been forced to drive to T-town to personally insult him to his face.
I hope the kid gets better, but good golly, he was awful last year.
As far as Gentle Ben, I'd assume he'll graduate in May or even August and then transfer to a smaller school in search for PT. Amazing how wrong all the recruiting services were on him, just goes to show you how recruiting isn't an exact science. I wish him the best both at Bama or any other school he ends up at, if he so chooses.

the crootin services had his small HS tapes plus I assume some camps he went too. You cant tell a whole lot how that HS desire will translate to SEC football when the expectations of conditioning and weight lifting come into play
