are you not just slightly embarrassed by it?

Not even a tiny bit.
If you understood the meanings behind the traditions, and you experienced them with some of the best friends you’ve ever had, you’d be nostalgic over ‘em.

I completely understand that others don’t get it; but they’re not meant to.
Our traditions are meant for us, and we could not care less what others think.
I swear that’s not meant to sound obnoxious, it’s simply the truth.
We’ve never been interested in being like everyone else, and we never will be.

It was an amazing university to attend, and it’s equally meaningful being a part of the Former Students’ Aggie Network.
But I enjoy a good chuckle at others’ reactions—it’s fun.

I get what you are saying. You hear the same reasoning from former cult members. If they leave they feel loss and have nostalgic thoughts about being apart of something.

We aren’t former cult members.
And thanks for chiming in, A LeBlanc.
Your opinion, in particular, is of paramount importance to me.

Who said you were?
I said they have a similar thought process.

I’m an Ag and never heard of this thing, but I’m class of ‘03 so guess it was created by New Army after my departure. I mean, squeeze has been around for a century so what else can we possibly do to top that?

Hey, it’s not like we go around advertising all of our traditions.
It’s not our fault that every now and then some internet sleuth decides to post something out of context that doesn’t make sense to others.
In truth, y’all have no idea how many we have—it’s mond-boggling, even for us.

We do our own thing, and raise a glass to others for doing theirs.

Apparently you're just like every weird gay glee club. Nothing special.

Our stadium is already paid for

You keep saying this. If you mean the contractors are already paid off by the proceeds of the bond issue and a fraction of the private fundraising, then I suppose you are correct.

But those 30-year bonds (more than $300 million worth) must be paid back.

Do you have the total wad of cash in a bank account to pay those bonds? No.

Do you have pledges from private donors over several years to pay off those bonds? Yes.

Do you have hotel tax revenue over the next 20 years to help pay those bonds? Yes.

Do you have student fees over 20 years to help repay those bonds? Yes.

RKKKR to be upgraded via bonds

Longhorns carrying $300 million in debt, can't get a loan for basketball arena

quote:

For years, the school has financed construction projects via long-term debt. That’s how UT once renovated Royal-Memorial Stadium. The athletic department has at least $14 million in annual debt service payments scheduled through 2044, according to audited figures obtained by the Statesman. With principal and interest payments, Texas athletics is still on the hook for $306.7 million for previous construction.

$14 MILLION A YEAR in debt servicing until we're all octogenarians? Holy buttfrick!!!

Redneck accounting?

No one has a collection of boosters with 300 million in liquid assets...

People have money because they invest it for future profits.
A lot of the cash that the CEO of ExxonMobil is worth is stock in ExxonMobil.
He won't put even 5 million worth of stock on the market because it will devalue the stock....

You sound jealous that no one wants to build an arena in College Station.
It actually is a brilliant idea because UT has the land.
The University of Texas has desired property.

You aren't even good at what you do...
Every university would jump at the deal given to Texas....
even we are swimming in money aggy

$14 MILLION A YEAR in debt servicing

What's that? About 7 percent of annual revenues dedicated to retiring debt?

So? The federal government is 33 percent.

And for UT Austin, not one penny of that debt will be paid off by a TAX or a student fee (unlike aggy). Your basketball arena was paid for almost entirely from forced student fees.

In short, frick you, aggy.

The hotels benefit from the existence of the stadium and benefit from the increased demand for hotel space. They were all on board with the hotel tax. They wanted the expansion.

The student fee is an increase in the SPORTS PASS cost. It's VOLUNTARY, dipshit. It amounts to a whopping $10 per game increase in student ticket prices.

In short, shut the frick up, Randy.
