LOL.. I haven't broken down any film nor would I. You did nit attempt to answer my question as to why or how he got away. Just a snarky smart arse comment.

You go break down all the film you want, I'll let the experts who rate kids do that. Which they have and have him rated as the 61st best nationally.

Which is higher than all of our current Dline commits (140, 195 & 371) and these 2 LBs. Bratton at 173 and Anderson at 84.

Kids a high 4 star ranked 61st nationally overall, is a legacy and IMO we should not let him walk.

So it's easy common sense based off of the rankings.

seen this kid play a lot, but he looks like a 5 star when he walks in a room, but soft when he plays

Ok, do you know what led him to choose OU?

He's rated higher than all our current Dline commits and 2 of the LB commits. He had projected as a LB or WDE and was a 5* at one point in his recruitment rankings.

Just seems like we should have got him and could use him. Hate seeing legacy players go elsehwere when they're rated as high as he is and over other commits.

Was just curious as to why he went to OU, was there an issue?

His ranking has plummeted over the course of the last year.

He didn't have a committable offer from us. He committed to Oklahoma, but South Carolina was the school trending for him over the last six months. If he was truly worthy of his ranking, then everyone would have been all over him.

No one was.

Everything I have seen about Grimes suggests he falls into the looks like Tarzan and plays like Jane category.

Not trying to be snarky, well maybe a little.
My point is that you see a # and think he has to be great and better than what we have. Multiple reports are that this guy missed his opportunity to commit, he hasn't progressed any this year and plays soft. Oklahoma is a perfect spot for him.
SO do you want him because of a # that makes you feel better or a better player who will actually play football and contribute,

Thanks Saint, I knew he went from a 5 to a 4 this summer and fall.

Was he over ranked due to his last name/ lineage?

He has very good measurables, seems like a good kid from what I've read.

Would he have committed to Bama with a firm offer? Did he wait too long to jump?

No, I want the best palyers we can get.

I see a legacy player with a higher ranking than some our current commits and wonder how/why we didn't get him.

I place a high regard for legacy or in sate kid (probably shouldn't) and would prefer them vs a non legacy or OOS of equal or less talent.

You did attempt to answer my question with this last post.

Grimes wanted to commit to UA but he never got a green light to do so. His 247Composite ranking is jacked up because ESPN ranks him as the #17 overall recruit in the country, which is ridiculous. His combine results are great for his size, and due to the upside that projected he was initially ranked very high by 247 and Rivals too. But they have both dropped his rating and ranking a lot, due to his senior season performance -- he's still raw -- and still soft.

I saw someone mention on BOL that Carter is going to stay. Not sure if that's true, although I certainly hope it is.

If the rumors about his behavior are true, this genuinely seems shocking to me.
