That’s what I was told, something about a quota. Never lived in Georgia so just kind of took his word

Even though UGA denies it,they flat out have a quota on kids from E Cobb, Gwinnett.Atlanta Pvt and N.Fulton High Schools.

What do you mean by quota? They have to take so many kids or they can only take so many of those kids from those areas? Always seemed to me that UGA was 13th grade for Cobb County kids.

And after 18 years coaching in Cobb Co, the only kids I’ve known to go to Auburn were legacies or recruited to Auburn, not UGA wannabes like some here would have you believe. It’s outrageously expensive out-of-state now and you can’t ever get in-state like you used to be able to.

Auburn is a self loathing bunch.

Bama is 7-3 against the barn in the past decade.
UGA is 8-3.

We can all predict that Auburn will cherish November 2017 like a long lost child that they will never see again.

Hey man what school did you coach at? My brothers kids all went to Lassiter. Went to a football game there once. They didn’t seem very good. Heard they had some good years and bad but not very consistent. Guess I caught them on a bad year. Also went to a baseball game there once. Had really good facilities and some great players.

Take a certain amount of kids from those areas and then
take less qualified kids from other areas of the state
in the name of geographic diversity.Kids from the northern arc have a much higher bar.

Ok,say you're saying not one kid you knew in 18 years went to AU because they couldn't get into UGA?BS

I have a friend with 2 girls who went Walton and both went to AU for because they couldn't get into UGA and both parents were legacies. Why would you want to pay out of state tuition if you don't have to?

It was unheard of 25 years ago for a kid that went to Lovett or Westminster not to get accepted to UGA.Now it happens all the time.

You must be the expert on this.

Are there collective bags of dicks and noncollective bags of dicks?

The things you must learn at the University of Auburn.

Not a one. Now I’m talking less than 10 kids in that time, but none that I knew went to Auburn because they couldn’t get into UGA. As far as I know, none of the ones I’m talking about even applied there.

Yes, that was before HOPE. All the Georgia state schools are more competitive than they were 25 years ago.

If you want a serious answer, here you go:

Depends on where the AU fan grew up and lives. I grew up in Alabama so I always hated Bama fans (still do) but never had anything bad to say about UGA fans, until I moved to Atlanta in ‘08. I have friends who grew up as AU fans in Georgia and while they don’t like Bama they’ll tell you in a heartbeat UGA fans are worse. It’s all about the opposing fan base you have the most in-person interaction with.

Not saying this is always the case by any means but everyone I knew at Auburn (2011-16) from Cobb County falls in this category

Out of curiosity, what’s Georgia’s record against Bama the past decade?

All?Not even close.Kids in the good public schools and the private schools have become more competitive and "geographic diversity" wasn't a factor pre HOPE.The private school kids are just as qualified if not more so than they were 25 years ago.
