MSU’s Charles Cross given a 5th star and bumped to 8th overall.
This should get him a fifth composite as he is 8th on 247, 17th on Rivals and 84th on ESPN (what joke their recruiting is).
Where did your players move?
SEC Players/Targets that are now 5-stars
1. Antonio Alfano-100-SDE-Alabama
2. Derek Stingley-100-CB-LSU
3. DeMarvin Leal-100-DT-A&M
4. Nolan Smith-100-WDE-UGA
5. Travon Walker-99-DT-UGA
8. Charles Cross-99-OT-Miss St.
11. John Emery Jr.-98-RB-LSU
14. Trey Sanders-98-RB-Alabama
16. Baylor Cupp-98-TE-A&M
17. Marcel Brooks-98-OLB-LSU
18. Zacch Pickens-98-DT-Carolina
20. Tryique Stevenson-98-CB-UGA
21. Nakobe Dean-98-ILB-Uga
25. Darnell Wright-98-OT-Tenn & Bama Target
26. Jerrion Ealy-98-RB-Miss St, Ole Miss & Clemson Target
28. Owen Pappoe-98-OLB-Auburn
30. Jeffrey Carter-98-CB-Alabama
32. Evan Neal-98-OT-Alabama

That's a huge jump for Cross, isn't it?

Up from 47th or something like that.
It’s deserved, between the Miss-Ala All-Star and Army All-American game, he lost all of one one-on-one in the practices (the loss was to Byron Young at MS/AL if I remember right. Who he dominated every other time they played.) and was the running away best offensive lineman at both and dominated the competition.
It is a joke ESPN has him ranked at 84th. They should not be a part of the composite score.

When he committed to us (12/2/2018), he was the 207th played. Has jumped up to 8. Not bad.

kenyon green not being a 5* is an incredible travesty

I think that's where he is on the composite, which will be updated tomorrow. His 247 profile says he was 79 on the 247-only rankings (#11 OT).

Antonio Alfano is #1 overall.

It’s the problem with 247, they only rank 32 5-stars a year to mirror the NFL draft which is dumb in strong years like this.
Nathan Pickering should have a 5th star too.

A couple of their 5-stars are head scratchers as well.

It's dumb in any year, IMO. They should be rating how high school prospects will do in college, not how high school prospects will do in the NFL draft, which takes a lot more into consideration than just their productivity in college.
I believe 5* guys should be guys who are projected to be an all american in college.
The 32 5* guys to mirror the 32 picks in the first round of the NFL draft was a cute idea, but it's just way too flawed a thought process.

The 247 dude actually said that Alfano was ranked at #1 ahead of Stingley simply because of his position.

I don't evaluate talent for a living but I personally believe Trey Sanders and Jadon Haselwood are way undervalued on 247 because 247 seems to value defensive (specifically lineman) and quarterbacks. Spencer Rattler I don't personally view as a big time 5 star QB. I also don't think Kyle Hamilton will play like a 5 star in college.
Pretty content with UGAs recruiting this season. 4 Guys in the Top 21 is not to bad and all of them on Defense.

John Emery #1 RB in the country.

Him and Davis are going to create a lot of headaches for coaches the next 3/4 years. It's like bringing in a Chubb/Michel at the same time. It's a hell of thing to have 2 studs coming in knowing they will ball out if they are healthy.

Great comparison, they should produce well.

Agree on Haselwood. Disagree on Sanders. I think Emery's the better back, and he's 11th so I'm fine with Sanders at 14.

Watching tape on Sanders - he's going to be very productive in college. He's a future pro...honestly. I actually think he likely out produces Emery because Emery is coming in with someone that gives them two variable options where Sanders is something that Bama can feature and with the line Bama always has you know he can yolk up some ridiculous numbers.

Seems Evan Neal and Kenyon Green aren't like near as much by 247 as they are the other services.

He might out produce him because he'll be at Bama with a better offensive line, but Emery just seems significantly more elusive to me.
Predicting their college stats shouldn't determine where they're ranked.
