According to Dunnaway on wjox, Bo Davis is the reason we have Golding. He called saban and told him to take Golding last year. Apparently Davis is outside the ncaa sanction period and could be hired again.

Hate to lose his recruiting prowess but damn guys. Our defense just looked lost most of the time this season.
Good recruiting starts with good player development. And good player development starts with good coaching.
Good players will sign to play for coaches they know can develop them.

4 more years and that is Max. You know it is coming to denial is No plan. Nick is going to get pounded by everyone going forward regarding his age just like Coach Bryant and Steve The Head Ball Coach. JMO but Nick needs solid coaching at this point more than anything and they will just have to work hard on recruiting.
The Times they are a changin......Bob Dylan
And what would you be saying had we gotten early pressure on Sunshine causing a pick or two and won by 2 or 3 TD's? The game easily could have went the other way. Either team was capable of capitalizing on mistakes and putting the other away. We would have had the same weaknesses but Clemson would have just failed to expose them like we failed to expose the one's they have.
Of course as Bama fans we would be completely insufferable and announcing Saban and Bama as Masters of the Universe for all-time. Now it's Saban is a washed up has been about to start the downward slide.
Funny thing is there wouldn't be a damn thing different in Saban or these coaching changes either way win or lose. Only thing changing is the wildly insecure fans perception which has zero to do with reality.
How is our fanbase so insecure after one loss in the midst of one of the greatest runs in the history of sports at any level. It just honestly baffles me.

So it is true after all. LINK
Golding did call the games this season....
But not all season. It says Saban stripped Lupoi of those duties early in the season.
We've always had good recruiters. That won't change.

info on Bo's NCAA deal from a year past..
The NCAA denied an appeal from Bo Davis on Thursday and upheld a two-year show-cause penalty it placed upon the former Alabama assistant in April that runs through April 13, 2019.
According to an NCAA release, Davis argued that the show-cause order should expire two years from the date he resigned at Alabama, which was April 29, 2016, rather than two years from when the NCAA ruled on his case, which was this past April.
However, the penalty was upheld. That means Davis, who is now UTSA's defensive line coach, can't do any off-campus recruiting through April 13, 2019.
