Remembering the Year that was 1939... Aggies greatest Season!

- German Invasion of Poland. September 1, 1939
- Britain and France Declare War. September 3, 1939
- Average Cost of new house $3,800.00
- Average wages per year $1,730.00
- Cost of a gallon of Gas 10 cents
- Average Cost for house rent $28.00 per month
- A loaf of Bread 8 cents
- Average Price for new car $700.00
- The Yankees won the World Series
- The Packers shut out the Giants 27-0 for the NFL Championship
- JOHN DAVID CROWE WAS 4!
- Two of the three teams that tied for the SEC Championship left by 1966 Tulane and Georgia Tech. Tenn was the other Co Champion.
AND
TAMU beat Tulane 14-13 to win its last NCAA championship WHICH THEY SHARED WITH USC.
Since it’s been 20+ years for a conference title in football for the Aggies?

Um, no... not to America. In 1939 Germany was still not seen as a problem to America. In fact just one year prior Hitler was time magazine’s man of the year.
