Bama fans are like a cult

The football fans here in Alabama need their football team to be on top as if their very life depended on it. I moved here from Baton Rouge about a year ago and it's unlike any fanbase I have ever seen. I'm actually starting to believe a college football program means more to the people here than their own kids and even God. The Auburn fans here are pretty normal. Normal as in they follow their team, keep up with recruiting, and are passionate about the game. Alabama fans on the otherhand get a University logo tattoed on their arse and shite, they fill the stadium just to watch the team practice, they need constant attention on sports talk radio stations, they have a never-ending sense of entitlement treating the game as if it's their birthright that Bama is the national champions. If anyone actually wants to get what I'm trying to say just listen to Finebaum and the Bama fans that call in are pretty much what you get in real life here. I'm actually not sure what they would do with theirselves without Bama being in discussions 24-7. It's an annoying cult around here. Get a life outside of your football team and stop using it as your everything to feel relevant in the world.

You don't have enough LSU in you, Yaw.

There are children in Bama being named Bryan Denehey Stadium, For Dabo's sake.

Ohio state, Nebraska, Georgia, Auburn, and Florida fans all did this recently too.
Seriously though I get where you’re going but you’ve gotta realize, people take pride in their state and team. People in LA are the same way about the Saints and LSU on smaller scales. It’s what you get when you mix a very poor state with a very successful football team. Americans love football. It’s something that makes this country great.
Look at it like Europeans with their soccer. There’s been many people killed over soccer games in Europe. They are crazy as hell. Their run is over. Let’s get past all of this bama talk and get back to being obsessed with LSU.

I know I pretty much vented my annoyance at the fanbase, but I really would like an honest explanation as to what the hell is going on with these people? They let Bama football run their damn life and they need to be humbled more often. After a 44-16 beatdown in which the score could have been even more lop-sided, the Bama fans were like "we beat ourselves". Really!? Are they that damn loony? I need answers lol

We are not putting up billboards and carrying on conspiracy theories. I think we will be OK.

The poors love football, it lets them escape their trailer reality. Leave them alone

My guess is much of it has to do with success. People like to feel associated with a winner. Fans of lesser programs may be rabid but not as fixated on their teams solely because their favorites aren’t as successful. For a particular type of fan who doesn’t have a lot going on in his personal life the temptation to latch onto the program in extreme ways is strong. Or I’m just full of it and throwing crap at the wall to see what sticks. Could be both I suppose.

Y'all don't need billboards. The SEC office ran by Bama fans and corrupt methods has helped you for years. How would you feel if they moved the SEC office to New Orleans and it was ran by biased LSU fans? I honestly think there needs to be an investigation into this. Everyone can see it, but nothing ever gets done even after getting exposed.

Your lack of a return key, misuse of commas (use and misuse), lack of use of semi-colons, and general butthurt over Bama dominance (8 in a row) is more disturbing than any point you tried and failed to make.
I tried to make that extended text as grammatically correct within a slightly run on prose that you may understand... but, it is 1 Am on the east coast, and Thursday night extended happy hour is affecting my normal grammatical quality control.

All CFB fans are a cult as are political parties and so forth. The strangest by far and in a league to themselves are LSU fans with AU running second. Both driven mad by Bama. So to that extent Bama stirs up a cult of followers but is also a serious carrier of the affliction.

In 1969 an El Salvadoran girl shot herself after their national soccer team lost to Honduras in the World Cup qualifiers. She just couldn’t take the shame. El Salvador would win the next two legs, however, and qualify for the World Cup. The fans killed each other after the games and threw pigs heads in the hotels where the players were staying, etc.
It kicked off a 100 hour war in which El Salvador nearly reached the capital city and took over Honduras until the US intervened.
So, at least bama fans haven’t reached this point yet. BUT, they haven’t lost to UT in a while...

Bingo. And Bama fans would sell their Mother down the river for a pair of tickets vs. The Citadel. They're also oblivious to the obvious SEC officials giving them the yellow hanky when needed, especially during a big momentum shift from the opposing team and usually early and often in the game. If anyone can't see this has been going on for years, you must have spaghetti for brains. They are dead set on protecting the cash cow and it helps when you have the biggest laugher of a schedule year after year. Their OOC opponents are a laugher compared to what the rest of the SEC plays. Just look at their schedule this past season and esp. next season. It's a joke, and on top of playing the likes of Duke, they also have avoided playing UGA and UF out of the EAST on the schedule. The SEC office in B'ham reeks of an unbearable stench.
