He is building his own thing at Clemson. He doesn't have to follow up Bryant and Saban. He has a chance to be the best coach of all time there.

Not even Dabo is going to want to follow Saban at Bama. If we think that fanbase is insane now, just wait until they come back down to Earth and start losing more games every year.

Hell, some gumps were calling for Saban to be fired last night. It's lunacy.

I said the same thing yesterday before the game, OP. I hate both Bama and Clemson (mainly because of Dabo), but if I had to choose, I wanted Clemson to win just so he continues to build a dynasty at Clemson. Saban isn't going anywhere anytime soon, but the last thing I want is for Dabo to take the Bama job when Saban retires.

Dabo is a full blown gump, I wouldn’t be surprised if he crawled to Tuscaloosa from Clemson when Saban retires

Why tf would he want to go there now? He is Clemson. His statue may already be in the works.

At Bama it will be unreal expectations, just another guy in a long line of elite coaches, a fanbase that will turn on you in a heartbeat, a tougher conference, and possibly a harder place to recruit (at least currently) compared to Clemson.

At this point, why would he? He's skull dragging the ACC and has turned the program into elite in all aspects of the game. Saban is going to have to retire, his replacement is going to have to suck, and there's going to have to be some fatigue on both sides of Dabo and Clemson before it even has a shot to happen.

Will be interesting to see what happens to Clemson when/if something too good to turn down falls in Venables' lap.

He's not leaving...

Dabo is building his own legacy, easier path to playoffs, and let's be honest.. Who wants to follow Saban's GOAT act.

Certainly he doesn't need to. I mean, he is building his own legacy at Clemson. Why go to Alabama where you might succeed and you might not? He's got it made right where he is at.

Roy Williams would never leave Kansas for North Carolina after he built his own thing and won championship there.

I think Dabo comes to Bama, but it is less likely after 2 titles than it was after one. He may not directly follow Saban. May prefer to be the guy that comes after the guy that follows Saban.

Then again, 10 years and $100M to come home can change minds quick.

Before last night's game I thought that there was a real good possibility Dabo could go to bama upon Saban's retirement.

Now, I don't see Dabo going anywhere. Not even the NFL.

Not a chance I would take that job. Those people don’t like him because he’s beaten them twice in the national championship, the expectations he’d have at Bama would be through the roof, and following arguably the greatest coach of all time? No chance I would take that job when I have a program built already and is arguably the best college football program now

Dabo would be a fool to not to want to come here. Coach Saban was a good coach before he come here. He was good but nothing special. With the Bama traditions and special resources and fans we got here we made him the 2nd GOAT to walk the Tide sidelines. Dabo is a better coach than Saban so just imagine how it will be with him here. He will be the 3rd GOAT faster than than Saban was the 2nd. And he is an Alabama boy. You can tell the respect and love he has for Alabama football when they was talking to him before the game yesterday. I knew right then and there that he is gonna be our next coach.

He’d have to be insane to leave what he’s built at clemson.

He will get bored at Clemson, already been there 11 years. Nothing left to accomplish there.

Saban will retire from Bama after the 2020 season. Then Dabo comes home.

If he does, he won't have near the success he's having at Clemson. He'll be Les Miles post 2011.
