Clemson defense needs a statement game and they will need to sustain drives. Unlikely but not impossible

SEC quarterbacks vs. Clemson's secondary this season.

A&M's Kellen Mond: 23-40, 430 yards, 3 TD, 0 INT
S.Carolina's Jake Bentley: 32-50, 510 yards, 5 TD, 1 INT

I kind of expect Trevor Lwarence to have a career game in a close Clemson win.

If the Clemson DL can force a couple fumbles.

If the Clemson OL gives Sunshine time to hit a couple over the top.

Clemson only wins a 42-38 type game. If it's in the 20s all night, they have no chance.

Clemson’s been holding back Trevor’s running game....because he only made it a full quarter on his first start before getting knocked unconscious. The dude can run too. Look for Clemson to use him like they used Watson. That’s going to be the wrinkle. He has the passing game down and is amazing to watch.

Yeah it really is, your defense hasnt given up a lot of points this year either, USC game excluded, but I am sure with the lead that changed the game a bit. I dont know a lot about your receivers though and if they are going to be able to make the plays they need, against albeit a questionable Bama secondary. Your QB is going to be a star for sure though

Any way I can see Clemson winning this game? I would guess by scoring more points then Bama.

Granted, I'm a fan of Arkansas football and we don't have the best win/loss record lately, but that is how we've always done things.

Yes I do. Clemson is a great team. This will be Bamas toughest test post Deshaun Watson. Our 16 defense was great and held him for almost three qtr until the damn broke. This defense doesn’t scratch that and although not Watson Trevor Lawrence is phenomenal and will be in the Heisman hunt next year.

Clemson’s loaded at WR. Not an issue at all.

Both those guys played the games of their lives. USC had 0 pts against UVA the next game.

I’ll give you the Mond one. That dude was making some absolutely incredible throws.

Bentley was literally hitting wide open guys all night. I don’t think he did anything that sensational

If Alabama turns the ball over 3 or more times, then yes

If Alabama does not turn the ball over Clemson has no chance.

Bama wins by 14-21 points.......

and I know that ESPN says it will be close, but they have to so people will tune in for the ad dollars. The reality is it may be more like the Notre Dame BCS game, unless Watson plays for Clemson.

I think Clemson wins the natty. Been calling it since late in the season and to this point nothing has happened to change my mind.

Agreed. Mond was threading needles between three defenders. Bentley was unexplainable. That’s why I’m not really worried. They were just way out of sync that night. Play calls weren’t getting in until the last second and players were out of position.

42-24 Bama. Clemson has played 2 good teams, 1 decent team and a bunch of shitty teams. I think OU was a tougher matchup because of their offense. Clemson is more pro style and Bama has the #1 offense, efficiency wise, in the country. If they have to blitz Bamas rpo/slants will be unstoppable against their shitty backfield.
