Stub hub has as low as $297. Damn, sure wanted ND or OSU to keep prices up. We all are getting screwed who played the ticket reserve this year. I love winning but it’s expensive. I am all in at $781 and I could get on stub hub for $300. Face value is $475.

Why the drop? Are the local folks not interested? My answer is most certainly yes. The group putting on the game are dumping so locals will show up. This is bull crap. They should refund my money if their doing so.

These idiots putting on these events are going to kill the goose that laid the proverbial golden egg. Alabama and Clemson folks will run out of money going to all these championships. Come on Auburn, A&M, OSU, ND, LSU, SC, Penn State etc, when are you all going to start winning?

Your post reeks of attention whoring, so I’ll give you some.

Go to the Final Four, then tell me how much tickets are to the title game on Monday. Same sort of deal.

And they’re playing the Bama/Clem game in Santa Clara, right? That alone should answer the question.

You took a gamble on ticket reserve. Sucks but you lost gamble. Don’t be mad at system.

That being said Bama vs Clemson Round 4 or whatever it is in Santa Clara CA isn’t going to create much of a demand.

The market for a national title game in Santa Clara without Notre Dame was always going to be spotty.

In the Bay area? Not in the least.

More like nobody in the region cares about CFB and a trip to the Bay on short notice is really expensive.....more so on the heels of a full season, Conference Title game, trip to Miami/Dallas compounded by similar trips the last 5 years.

Yeah California really could care less about Bama vs Clemson. This game could actually not sell out. Though Bama travels well it's hard to make so many trips each year.

I fully expect empty seats. Clemson travels great too, but too much reliance on a couple schools from way far away with serious spending fatigue.

They deserve it for playing this game out there, too. It's fine if they want to, but they had to know this could happen.

Same result as in Phoenix in 2015. It is nothing to do with fatigue. It's the average fan either had to plan way ahead or get murdered on plane tickets because no one is driving to California.

The closest major airport for Clemson and Alabama is Atlanta. Delta is the winner of the CFP again

Price/spending fatigue, not excitement fatigue.

There are enough Clemson and Alabama folks who want to go to fill 2 stadiums. Like you said, the trip itself just isnt conceivable for most people, especially not after having so many other expensive trips and games this year and others.

You do realize that you aren’t the reason for the success seen by bama football right?

Of course I am, it’s a football forum.

Seriously, Bama fatigue is setting in with us Bama fans as well. This is my 5th Natty in 9 years. Also, went to 2014 Sugar Bowl. In NOLA. I have planned prudently and traveled low class etc. Still, I have spent for myself and wife over $20,000. That’s probably low for many other fans. The cfp committee could care less. I am fortunate to be able to afford but I have my limit.

The fans need to start protesting and demanding different. All wanting 8 game playoff better have big pockets. I don’t think this current setup can sustain itself if other programs don’t step up.

I was told by the ticket office two weeks ago that there wasn't much demand. Also, the allotment is 20,000, which is more than the OB was.

Actually, my airfare is less than Miami would have been, as well as the hotel in Monterey. Perfectly decent hotel for $90 a night. But I'm flying into LAX and driving up the PCH. Ticket out there on Delta cost me about 12,000 miles, and the flight back on Southwest was under $110. And those were booked the day after the Georgia game.

Honestly, I don't think they ever cared about ticket sales. They never would have put the game on a Monday after the holidays if they did.
