Considering some of the defenses he played against at the end of the year, he should get it. I think it's pretty shitty to take it away because of one middling injury riddled performance. Not taking anything away from Georgia. If anyone is to blame for the offensive problems, it's Alabama's offensive staff getting owned by Kirby and Mel.

If saban was an a-hole like Riley and Myer, he would have left Tua in and scored 80 several times this year easily. That's why Murray and Haskins numbers are what they are. Their coaches believe in running up the score on hapless opponents. We can start throwing dabo on that list too.

To be fair, Riley kind of had to leave Kyler in. There weren't a ton of games where they were up 30 or 40 points late.

Well, I guess with that defense no lead was ever safe. I mean, so be it. I def don't have a problem with the kid winning it. He had a great year.

How much would it have helped if he'd played more against UGA?
If healthy it would have helped tremendously.

About 280 yards passing, 4 TDs and 2 INTs would have probably locked up the Heisman for him.

I'm tired of seeing this comparison with the Oklahoma QB. It would be unprecedented to award someone the Heisman trophy with the assumption that he would have better numbers with an equal amount of snaps.

Ok. When we go up by 3 scores on you in the title game and pull Tua late in the third quarter, we won't claim anything about what his stats would have been.

Maybe not an equal amount, but surely you understand that he was taken out of games because Alabama had huge leads, right?
Is it so difficult to think had he stayed in the lopsided games his numbers would have been much larger than they were?

No reason to punish Kylar for a hypothetical.

Timmy Chang, Colt Brennan, Graham Harrell, Case Keenum, BJ Symons and all those guys really got fricked.

Colt Brennan led the NCAA in yards, QB Rating and Yards Per Attempt in 2006 and didn't even get to go to NYC, led alone win. Lost to frickin hypotheticals.

So you can only name a bunch of weak school QBs and pass only QBs?

Wait, I thought playing with a team that had less talent and your team playing no defense was a POSITIVE in your Heisman case? So, it would seem the worse the team around them the better their case. And we all know that the defenses they played against doesn't really matter, so throw that out too.

Those teams wouldn't have won dick without those QBs. They were the difference in 5 or 6 win seasons and 10 or 11 win seasons (especially Keenum and Brennan). Another major positive. And, as we know, they threw for a billion yards, so it doesn't really matter is the other QBs threw less passes, that's a hypothetical.

Again, I just can't keep the narratives straight. I want to go back and figure out which QBs got screwed.

So it's ok to punish Tua because his coach didn't want to run up the score?

Both of these QB's deserve the award. So pick the one you like most and don't try and degrade the other.
