I'm still thinking Gus is gonna be gone.

Gus will be back next year. 100%.

Same. This is so bizarre. I don't think a coach accepting a lower buyout offer has ever happened in CFB before, and it just defies logic why a coach would do so.

I don't believe any of this shite. Stoops, reduced buyout, probably the two most far fetched ideas I've heard. I fully expect $49 million Gustav on the plains next season.

Per all reports, they did not in a million years expect Gus to accept this deal. I mean, who would after all? This is a lose lose for Gus and he still accepted it.

Yeah none of,this makes sense. Gus basically agrees to get fired next year for less money. Oh and BTW being totally cucked when it comes to decision making about staff.

just realized it's been over 10 years since I signed up on TD

Yeah, unless Gus is a super modest guy, it doesn't make sense.
Basically, he's saying he wants to coach next season, and if he fails, he's willing to be fired in a way that financially easier on the athletics department...wtf
I'm not sure if I believe the reduced buyout stuff either. Maybe we need to wait on more details to emerge, but it's being widely reported at this point.

If it indeed was a 'take it or get fired' offer, and he indeed accepted it, he should still be fired for utter stupidity. I wouldn't be surprised if further details emerged today that paints the offer in a more fair light for Gus.

Did ya'll run off Lanier?

This could also be seen as the ultimate showing of ego for Gus. It would be like this...
He desperately wants to coach next year in order to show fans he still has 'it' and his system still works. So the only way to do this would be to accept this offer although it's a lose-lose and he has everything stacked against him. This seems absolutely crazy and he's essentially risking his CFB HC career if so.

This is how I feel. Calling fricked up football plays is one thing, abandoning cash that's rightfully his is incomprehensible.

This makes less sense to me than all of the other reports coming out. Say Gus doesn't "accept" this deal, what is the alternative?.......Auburn fires Gus and he gets a Brinks truck backed up to his door.

When it comes out that there was no buyout renegotiation, that the Sunday meeting was a normal end of season meeting with no hostility and that Gus and staff are going about their business per normal...that's when I'll really lose my shite
