He got a composite rating today. Broke all kinds of records this year in Alabama and ran for 2846 yards and 53 rushing TDs on 148 carries over this year, a 12-game season. That is 19.2 yards a touch.
Late bloomer who was unranked two months ago but tore it up this season and holds offers from MSU, Virginia Tech and Louisville and was starting to pick up more interest from others.

How is 4A Alabama football?
Just watched his huddle and if he had this season his junior year he is a mid-hugh four star easy.
Very similair to Jerrion Ealy.

What kind of competition did he face? Lower level high school?

4A Alabama High School, 4A in Mississippi is the third highest level and not somewhere you can just put up ungodly numbers due to competition. It’s why I asked the Bama guy how it is because idk how competitive it is.
His high school’s enrollment is around 500 people. So he isn’t facing the worst competition but also not the best.
He just started playing running back this year too.
Idk how it is in Alabama. The big reason I made the Jerrion Ealy comparison is Ealy is ranked high but faced similair competition I feel like by play in Mississippi’s highest private school level.

Honestly not good. It's not the worst by any means, but it is highly unlikely he was going against many (if any) players with even a shot at JUCO football. I played 5A and only saw a handful of guys that went D1, and all of them were at schools that fluctuated between 5A and 6A. From my experience the gap between 6A/7A and the rest of the state is significant.
All that to say, he could still be a very good player. He just likely hasn't faced very many other ones.

I don’t think competition matters when you’re averaging 20 yards per carry.

looks like Nick Fitz running over the aggie defense,i agree low level competition.

That wa smy thought, even in bad competition those numbers are impressive.

I agree with AA7. I graduated from a 4A in Alabama a couple years ago, there are definitely some really good athletes in 4A but pure speed makes you look better than you might actually be against inferior competition. But he could also be a phenomenal player for you guys, we just won't know for sure till he goes up against yalls squad.

It would not surprise me one bit if Witherspoon was better than Ealy. This kid has been under the sweep and it happens all the time.

Based on the highlight video vs. the one game I saw Ealy play, he appears to be more physical than Ealy. Obviously that opinion is based on an extremely small sample size.

Your starting running back played in 2A Alabama High School football. Level is overrated to some extent.

Seems to be a late bloomer. He clocked a 4.38 40 time in a camp, and 10.85 100m in his state track meet, so he has that rare factor that puts a handful of backs in a class of their own. Its going to take a few years to pack on the muscle, but he has a 6' frame to carry it.
He isn't a finished product, but there is no ceiling. It's a worn out saying but you can't teach speed.
Objectively, he could be an amazing talent at RB in a few years. If he can't maintain his speed while gaining the muscle, then he fits the build to be an elite DB already. Seems like a great pickup, particularly since any risk is offset by the ability to change positions.

Nice pickup. Gotta feeling this one is going to end up like that big WR ya'll got a few years ago from Alabama (dont remember his name). He also emerged late and we didn't have room. This kid is going to be a heck of a RB!

De'Runya "Bear" Wilson is who you are thinking of.
Miss Wilson, he left for the draft a year early because he hated school. He sucked in practice but was an absolute gamer, thought he was an NFL receiver for sure but was too busy smoking weed instead of working hard.
Hope Lee is that type of player with the work ethic.
