Is KJ for sure the guy going forward?

Idk if we just missed on QB recruits this class or if this staff REALLY believes KJ will be the guy, but I really can't believe we aren't at least looking at a JUCO QB given the state of that position on our roster right now. KB is a longshot and we've got the future to think about. No QB on the roster right now is going to do anything notable for us going forward. I know there were "technically" a lot of guys at that position starting the year, but I'm shocked we've only signed one.

We need to throw everything we have at offensive line recruits. Whoever the QB is isn't gonna make any difference if they're pressured on 70% of their pass attempts.
You simply can't win football games with that sort of production in your passing game. Wouldn't matter if you had Drew Brees back there.

Noland will be decent.
KJ will need some seasoning though, would be great if we could get KB to buy Jefferson some time and possibly a redshirt season to learn, but I will be shocked if that happens after today.
Right now, it wouldn't matter if we had Tua though. I'm more concerned about OL recruiting.

I bet we go after another grad transfer if Bryant falls through.

Y’all are killin me with these melts. If we had Brees or Tua it would make a huge difference. Yes the OLINE is less than average but you also have to get the ball out of your hand. Our receivers are shite outside 2 guys, but when they are open, they are missed by a mile.

As of now we only have Limmer Latham and Rathke onboard.
If these 3 are absolute starters next year then great. If not, you could see more of the same next season.

It’s a hole that the program put itself in over the last three years. We are basically hoping that Morris can get us out in one recruiting class. That’s a lot to ask of any coach.
We’ve got 3 OL now and hopefully we can land a JUCO or two and hope they pan out better than the last few JUCO’s Bert signed.
If not, we really need a Bryant type with escapability and throw on the run experience.

If we miss on KB we have to go get a grad transfer dual threat QB.
The only way to mask the holes on this offense are to find a Nick Marshall type.

My thoughts all along have been that Morris' success or lack thereof would ride on his ability to get a difference maker at QB.
A miss next year could very well end with another ofer in the SEC yet again.
I want this guy to succeed in the worst way.
It kills me to even think we could finish with the worst record ever. But at this point in time I see many signs pointing in the wrong direction.

I think he will be the most physically gifted qb we have had since jones. A ton more accurate than jones as well. Warning he is raw, and still makes some errant throws. He also does at times make quick decisions, and has all the tools to be an unstoppable QB.

I always thought Jones could have been a great QB with better coaching. I saw that dude make some very good throws. I just don't think he was ever asked to throw the ball enough to develop as a good QB.
He would only throw on 3rd and long, and only then only half the time Nutt didn't run a frickin smoke draw on 3rd and 11.
Then, the rest of the time the play was some variation of a naked boot.

There was a highly rated legacy recruit they didn't give the time of day in this year's class.
They took two QBs last year. So even without KB they will be going into spring with 3 guys who are "their guy", pretty good numbers for their second spring.

Considering he was barely even ever asked to practice, I’m sure you’re right on this.

Obviously yeah. Problem is our current O line recruits have 1 power 5 offer combined, but people are gushing over the class ranking. We're about to have 22 defensive linemen on the roster, but yay we got a highly ranked class!! That's all that matters!

Watched some of KJ’s senior highlights last night. Reminds me of a poor man’s Cam Newton (mean that as a good thing). Not quite as big, but similar delivery and doesn’t have blazing speed but is a good runner for his size. Will probably play around 6’3, 220 here.
He’s accurate but I noticed he throws off of his back foot a lot. Not sure he’d be able to get away with that in the SEC. Lot of tools to work with though.

Both Dak Prescott and Fitzgerald were "poor man's Tebow/Newton". Neither were highly recruited, Prescott was recruited more as a TE than a QB. Obviously Prescott was a diamond in the rough at the position, Fitzgerald proved to be a good QB for Mullen's system.
KJ being raw or not highly ranked isn't a problem if he has the skill set to do what Chad needs him to do here. He likely could not play the position at say Bama or LSU, but that doesn't matter.
What does matter is that Chad gets "his guy" who can do what he needs to instead of trying to plug a square peg into a round hole like Gus has done at Auburn. That strategy is good enough for 7-8 wins there, but wouldn't be here as the talent isn't available or gotten to make up the wins for bad QB play in regards to not being able to do what is needed to be done at the position in this system.*
I'm not one to think KB is the savior of the program to be a stop gap in getting things turned around, he isn't the difference in a bowl game or not next year IMO. What he is is a guy who got beat out at Clemson by an underclassmen and is looking to go somewhere where he will be the man for his last season. This isn't conveying the idea of competing for a position, working hard to earn playing time, and being a team first player. You are bringing in a guy who is the exact opposite of all of this, a guy who quit the team when the team really needed him when their starting QB went down due to injury, a me first guy.
Jalen Hurts is actually the guy in QB who has shown to have all the character traits Chad was in the media saying he wants from his players, not KB...

No, he won't. I don't get the folks trying to say that a better QB is gonna make a big difference. Our offensive line allows defenses to pressure our QBs on 70% of their throws.
I haven't ever seen such poor production from an offensive line. It's just like a free for all along the trenches in our games.
People are fooling themselves if they thing a scrambling QB is gonna make a huge difference. These rollout and throw/run offenses still require a QB to be able to get a ball off without a 270 pound lineman swallowing him up.
We won't be good on offense until we get a reasonable offensive line. Anyone who thinks differently is mistaken.
Problem is, our offensive line won't be any better next year. We are two years out. Simple as that.

And everyone of them is needed if you havent watched. After adding 2 juco tackles. I think we also move some defensive linemen to offense. This class answers a bunch of issues. You loved bert. He was fat, and sucked arse. Go frick yourself.

That's really worked out. I think the two guys we moved from D line to O line quit the team.

Fake news. Also, chill out. It's just kids' football.
