Taking in their total career both College and Pro.... How many SEC position players would be considered as one of the best 3 at a given position All Time ?

The first one I thought of was John Hannah G Alabama

Off the top of my head

Reggie White
Derrick Thomas
Peyton Manning
Emmit Smith
John Hannah
Dermontti Dawson?

If Patrick Willis played 4-5 more seasons I’d say him too
If Albert Haynesworth didn’t give 0 fricks after he got his contract, definitely him

ETA: Kevin Mawae - him and Dermontti may be 2 of the best centers of all-time

Peyton was never best at any level period
Not the best colt qb Unitas was

Not the best Broncos qb Elway was

In college Danny was better.

I honestly think QB is the one position you have to name by Era.... a lot of these guys today wouldn’t have lasted long 50 years ago....those QB’s literally got bludgeoned....
I honestly have never seen two better than Unitas and Starr.... they were leaders... not just throwers.... Tarkenton was the most unique one I ever saw...

I'd consider Dwight Stephenson in there at center as well. The NFLPA named him Offensive Lineman of the year for five consecutive years. And PFF named their annual award for the best player regardless of position after him.
