Woah. Never though I’d see that happen. I wonder if he’s a lost cause at this point or if some big school will give him a 3rd shot.

His firing/public embarrassment from here took something from him. He was never the same coach. Kind of liken his spiral to what happened to Tiger Woods.

He was great until year 5 at Louisville..maybe he can't sustain a program

I thought the same thing. He didn't seem to have that edge he used to have.
Like a lot of other humbled athletes or stars, the characteristics that helped make him great at his craft were probably the same ones that led to his downfall.
His head coaching career is over at the P5 level given his reputation. He might go be a coordinator somewhere, but I doubt it. Pretty tough for someome with his resume to take a shot to the ego and relegate himself to the role of assistant. I think he either takes a job at the G5 level or goes to FCS.
I also wouldn't be surprised if he took a year or two off. He looked terrible on Friday night and has looked lifeless all season.

This right here. I'd hire him as OC if I were Morris!

Bob should retire or attend Saban’s coaching rehab center in Tuscaloosa for a couple of seasons, Or take an OC gig.
His recruiting destroys programs after 4 years without doubt.

This is what he was always meant to be, I'm not sure his ego is still low enough to accept that for his lifetime but he could eventually be one of the highest paid OCs in college football if he stuck with that.

I wouldn't. The guy has never been able to put up big numbers against the upper tier teams. He's good at pounding the hell out of lesser teams, but Saban owned his arse. Clemson obviously owned his arse too. 77 points.

Didnt he donate money for a building or something at Louisville?

He was a Joe Adams reception away from a Sugar Bowl win

He donated quite a bit while he was here too, if I'm not mistaken.
I don't think he's necessarily like a bad person or anything, he's just an idiot.

"Petrino coached Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Lamar Jackson in 2016, but the teams of his second tenure were plagued by poor offensive line play and porous defenses."
Some things never change....
I'm only surprised they did it now instead of after the last game. The writing was on the wall though, a 7 game losing skid and the players not responding to coaching is tough to overcome several years in.
He'll end up at some directional school for a while and give it another go at a mid-major after that though, even with his tumultuous history he's too bright at offense to not try out.
