RBs under Saban:
3 unanimous All-Americans
2 Heisman winners
2 Doak Walker Award winners
1 Maxwell award
1 Walter Camp award
If someone can top that, I’d like to hear it

REC will make sure an Alabama RB gets drafted ahead of all those guys.
REC is everywhere. Most powerful organization on Earth.

Again, those are just as much team awards as individual ones. Many factors go into how those award winners are chosen, not just their individual ability and talent. Bama has had the superior talent throughout the team, no doubt, and that is a huge reason why they have so many award winners across the board. Kudos to Saban and those teams for being consistently dominant.
Still, many of us feel UGA's backs are better both in the NFL and CFB, right now and for the foreseeable future. That isn't a slight against Bama.

Stats do not tell a different story on Drake vs. Chubb at the moment

But getting back to this year, I'll take my chances with this guy:

Drake yards from scrimmage: 610
Drake total TDs: 5
Chubb yards from scrimmage: 627
Chubb total TDs: 6
Wow, such HUGE separation between the two.

C'mon man. You're being disingenuous. There's not a single person who has watched both of them play (from an unbiased) perspective this season that would say Kenyan Drake has been better.

I get the eye test. Assuming the person watching is knowledgeable, there's nothing wrong with it. And I honestly have no idea which of the two is a better back in the NFL -- I watch much more CFB than NFL. But, in the end, the results are all that matter. If on RB looks better than the other but both get similar numbers, then nobody cares who looks better. I'll take ugly just as soon as I'll take pretty so long as the results are similar.
Edit: obviously, context matters too, i.e. o-lines and QBs and play-calling. But that's a much larger conversation.

Drake: 114 total touches
Chubb: 100 total touches
Drake: 610 total yards (rushing and receiving)
Chubb: 627 total yards
So yeah, if you just look at total yards, it looks similar, but Drake is doing it with literally an additional 14% of a sample size and trending down while Chubb is trending up after taking over the starting job.
And that's independent of OL/QB/Play Calling etc... Chubb's doing it for the Browns...
PS: Totally random, but looking at Drake's total yards per touch for each of the last three seasons and it's identical all three years down to 2 decimal places at 5.35... That's fricking weird.
Meanwhile, Chubb sitting at 6.3 yards per touch...

Yeah, this would be an example of numbers favoring one. If Drake looked better but Chubb put up those numbers, advantage Chubb. Since I haven't watched much of them in the NFL, and since I'm too lazy to research, I just took the numbers posted in the thread and made a philosophical point. Had I gone in blind, I would have assumed Chubb was better simply because he was clearly the superior college back when he was healthy.

When healthy, Swift is one of the most dominant talents in all of CFB. His ability to change direction so "swiftly," without losing momentum is eye-opening.
Absolutely true. he is extremely fast, and can direction on a dime. He has excellent vision and can catch the ball. If he stays healthy, he could be better than Sony Michel in the NFL.

I admit that there is an argument, but UGA hasn't had as many elite RBs as we have. Gurley is probably the best RB in the NFL, so I'll give them that.
And it also depends on what somebody means when they say RBU. If you want performance based on college, then Alabama wins. If you want NFL, then probably Georgia right now. But even then it remains fluid.

And Drake didn't make the cut, yet has had a better year so far than Chubb, and Michel? Interesting.
You might want to double check that.
Chubb and Michel have just started playing for their teams as starters and Chubb has more yards than Drake. Also, Drake is in his third year while Chubb and Michel are rookies.

Yeah. I just figured I'd give you the full picture so you could make your own assessment. Personally dgaf who thinks who is better, but if someone's gonna try and make a mathematical case for it, at least provide a complete dataset (or reasonably close to it).

I made that post before the browns game was over yesterday. When it was true.

Since Drake's dumbass coach actually started giving him touches, he's looked pretty damn good. They still don't give him the ball enough. The fans and their sportswriters bitch about the fact that he doesn't get enough touches.

I can agree with that.

Yards per touch is also misleading when so many of those for Drake are receptions. Obviously, yards per catch is going to be > yards per carry (well almost always).
Yards per carry, Chubb is averaging 1.6 yards more than Drake.

Meh... Modern RBs don't have to strictly run the ball... Tough to fault a guy for being a good receiving target...
But nonetheless, Chubb not only is outperforming him currently but also seems to be trending much better at the moment as well...

Ingram has been the beneficiary of great systems, IMO. If we are going by talent and ability as of now, I'll take those two Georgia rookies to build my stable, especially Chubb.
Oh Jesus Christ.
