UGA peacocking around with their ‘blackout’ uniforms is bush league.

ib4 someone posts the 40 year old picture of an orange Auburn jersey.

You would be better served to worry less about our uniforms and focus on the beating you are going to get Saturday

The last Auburn alternate I remember is 2007

Bama had one in 2010

Pretty much. I can't think of any other SEC schools that don't sport "alternate" unis.

Much props Aubie for wearing the same thing, EVERY week. If you only wear an alternate once a year you still wear alternate uni's and are dismissed from the traditional uni club.

Auburn has those hideous orange jerseys. Doubt they will break them out again after the stain they got during the Doug barfield years

Since our contract with Nike turning us into the Oregon of the Midwest, our normal is new. Before I die I want to see us in our classic Black & Gold M helmets. Should have NEVER gone away from it.

You know Gus burned Auburn's program down when the Aubies start off-season threads in November

That was for the military support night I believe. We did have a houndstooth collar for one game under Shula.

I cant help but wonder why Auburn doesn't wear an orange jersey from time to time. I have never seen the 40 yr old picture you mention, but it looks good in my imagination. your shite is boring, spice it up every now and then. blue and orange isn't as cool as red and blue, but still lots to work with. its not like you have fifty-levven national championships as a reason TO HONOR TRADITION, or anything.

They're probably the only ones where you can't tell. I'm sure there are some 45 year old housewives brandishing swatches that show that one uniform is the tiniest bit different from another, but the rest of us just see the same uniform over the years.

There really is something to be said for tradition, though stuff like the blackout unis and the like don't bother me. There's a happy medium between Oregon and unchanged-since-the-1890s. But not changing is a sign of confidence. Programs are saying that they don't need the sort of gimmicks Oregon has attached its entire self-image to.

While I'm a big fan that Alabama hasn't changed their uniforms over the years, I do like the houndstooth neck piping they did a couple years ago.

I also like the chromed look someone made for a helmet several years ago too.

But I'd never want either one to be permanent

I do remember every once in a while the Tide would bust out the white helmets. Was the last time in the 1980's?

If possible,

LSU should rotate these in once a year:

Georgia should bring back the black lids every now and again:

And for Ole Miss: (1) Kudos to your athletic department for opting for the shark, but for frick sake, utilize it more. It’s a marketing gimme. (2) Permanently change to powder blue. It instantly vaults you to the top of the uni list.

Perkins brought them back for a bit. They looked better with the all white uni's.

I don’t mind bringing back some old uniforms worn by prior teams. The Oregon bullshite on the other hand is a big negative
