It will be 25 straight wins for them, mostly garbage opponents but 25 wins is 25 wins. They beat the shite out of an Auburn team that beat both NC players. They beat the shite out of Pitt. Their UNC game was cancelled (hurricane florence).
I see no reason to not let UCF get the #4 spot.

Then when Bama/LSU/UGA is the #1 seed and destroys them by 5 TDs the media will whine that the SEC was handed a spot in the NC against a weak opponent.

IF they run the table, I would consider it, but would you take them over a 1 loss Michigan, Ohio State or Oklahoma? I wouldn't.

This thread is great evidence we should move to a 8 team playoff at minimum though, would be really exciting and give the UCF-type teams a shot

I'm sure the 6th best SEC team could beat UCF. They aren't good, they play the weakest schedule in college football and struggle with that.

I don't think they will. Their team was better a year ago. While their defense wasn't good last year, it did enough to allow them to outscore teams. Frost looked like a more composed coach than Heupel too.
I actually think their team a year ago could've competed against the top 4 - not winning a semifinal, but it would've been respectable. This year their back 7 on defense is abysmal. Tua, Fromm, Trevor Lawrence, or Haskins would throw it at will.

Let UCF in. Let them get snuffed. Clarity moves forward. If however UCF ends up in the final, then the decision to include them is validated. I dont see the downside.
