Is he as mediocre as he looks or should we be more concerned?

Seems clutch. But he’s not a high percentage passer. Don’t know if that’s him or WRs. Looks like both watching their game last night.

He's definitely not an elite passer but we have struggled against other mediocre QB's. Obviously our secondary needs to eliminate the easy throws. Getting pressure is key

He's like any other LSU QB not named Mett.

He has the ability to run, so they can't let him get the edge.

Fortunately, both LSU lines are shite. He'll be running for his life if Bama's passrush shows up like it has...

If we don't have 11 guys within 10 yards of the LOS, we're doing something wrong on defense.

They play small ball with very limited downfield passing success. Short curls and outs, TE flairs and RB dumpoffs. That's their game. They're pretty good at it, too. Helps maintain ball and game control and keeps the opponent's offense off the field. Burrow doesn't take too many risks, either. Smart player.

Stack that box, get in their receivers' face at the line of scrimmage, keep at least one safety up to jump those short routes. I'd limit blitzing because that can get you in trouble if they dink & dunk on over your blitz.

He’s a smart QB. His completion percentage is down due to drops and throwaways.

He might not win the game, but won’t get you beat. Comparable to McElroy IMO

I agree 100% here, our dline should get penetration but loosing guys over the middle could cost us big. Communication will help or hurt us

He's good enough if we dont get pressure to hit the open receivers just like the guy from Tenn did yesterday. The one big disadvantage in this game will be that we probably wont be able to get a couple of quick score in the 1st to build a little cushion and play with the lead like we have all year.

This guy feasts on one on one coverage throwing out routes.

If we can stop the run and rush the passer with 4/5 we will have great success on defense.

Son of a coach. Not the greatest accuracy past 10 yards but excellent at reading defenses. Underrated runner not afraid of taking a big hit. Does a great job of putting his offense in the right position at the line of scrimmage. Where's his heart on his sleeve and really depends on emotion when on the field. Also has several tall receivers. Our defense will have to do a good job of disguising coverages and play close to the receivers as there will be several 50/50 balls in this game. The weakness is the o line. They use the RPO to offset. A quick start would severely hurt there gameplan.

Their WR's look like garbage to me, would you really blitz him a lot? I think I would be more conservative, we can shut their WR's down imo.

How many TDs did they score last night? And how long was that drive?

It was a pretty wet field most of the night with a strong rain storm early. Not surprised LSU took the very conservative approach.

Especially considering MSU was not a threat to score more than 7-10 points. That was the kind of game Saban would play against LSU and MSU in the past. I wouldn't read too much into LSU's game last night.

I'm not completely sold on him. He plays within the system. On one to ten, he is a six. He will give you 14 to 21 points a game but I dont think he really play well when he is pressured by defense. If we stay on him, confuse him with the blitzes, we should be in good shape.

Put John Parker Wilson in an LSU uniform and there you have it.

Bama can get pressure with 4 against their OL.

Agree. Pressure with 4 will work. If our offense starts hot, maybe even be aggressive with some blitzes and see if Burrow gets rattled. If he burns us, then we can pull back.

All said and done, LSU's ceiling offensively is about 20 points. Even if Tua has to play into the 4th quarter, no way in this realm of existence does Alabama score less than 30.

Bama can get pressure with 4 but we have to be careful watch for there RPO. They also depend on playing backwards. They love to pass on first down and make safe 5-10 yard passes as their receivers are not speed burners but tall and strong. Burrow is not the most talented about but very smart. A coaches son who has been well schooled on reading coverage and blitzs at the line of scrimmage.
