In week 3, Purdue’s David Blough, almost a household name as the 2nd string QB from the 2017 bowl-eligible Boilermakers, put on a scintillating show in West Lafayette. A gritty gamer, he racked up 570 yards of passing against Mizzou’s innovative Cover No One defensive alignment.

Will Tua be able to match the lofty numbers of Blough this Saturday against Mizzou? If he doesn’t, are his Heisman chances affected? Does he mentally bounce back from say a 550 yard performance? And what does that do to his NFL HOF chances? Lot of pressure on this young man. I hope he doesn’t wilt.

Tua may not play a down in the second half. So no.

He'll have around 225 at half and 3 TDs.

Haven’t seen anything of Blough, so I’ll go with Tua.

Brilliant write up. Beating the cover no one is classic.

Eric Zeier's single game passing record may be in trouble this weekend. Bama's D is playing poor enough right now to keep Mizzou in the game. Not saying it's going to be close, but I don't think CNS will feel safe going into the 4th with only a 28 point lead. Which in turn will keep Tua in the game until his first series of the 4th quarter where Bama goes up 35 when Tua hits tight end Jalen Hurts in the flats for a score.

Shootout at the Capstone. Tua finally plays a full game. 1100 passing yards and 9 TD's. On only 23 attempts. Bama wins 84-56

as I have said before: The fact the defense is giving up some yards and points may be Tua's best bet for a Heisman trophy, otherwise he might not have enough playing time for the gaudy numbers voters like to see.

His numbers are still pretty ridiculous...

Haven’t you heard? Tua is Dan Marino, Bart Starr, John Elway, Johnny Unitas, and Tom Brady all wrapped into one.

None of them ever did what Tua did. 2nd half. 1st real playing time of career. National by-God Championship.

Not sure if we've heard about that comparison but we can see how long you've been melting. Closing in on a year...it's not healthy bro.

Blough had a QB rating of 172.63 and averaged 10.4 YPA vs Missouri

Tua's lowest outputs on the year are 224.29 (@ OM) and 12.0 YPA (Arky St)

Bigger question is will Mizzou accomplish something truly remarkable and actually force an Alabama punt.

I expect Saban will continue to try and get the ground game going to give the defense a rest. The biggest downside to a high powered passing attack is you score quickly and the defense spends more time on the field, which wears them down and your opponent is able to capitalize on that in the 2nd half.

You didn't get the memo?

Saban has cancelled all punts and PATs for the year.

That Blough kid needs to transfer to Baton Rouge to really reach his potential. The precedent has been set.

He would get better coaching at Auburn.

More like Joe Montana, Michael Vick, and Michael Jordan all in one.
