When Will Waddle Be A Starter?

I think we have another case of "once a starter always a starter" at WR this year. This one isn't as obvious because our current starting 3 are performing unbelievably well, and Waddle is still getting a lot of PT (mostly with the 2s)
BUT
It's still a question. Our starting 3 are currently all on track for the NFL, and they're also just 1 year ahead of Waddle, who's the most athletic and explosive of them all.
It's an interesting dilemma, because at some point we HAVE to feature Waddle in this offense, and it can't be 2 years from now. Waddle is a gamechanging athlete who is capable of making plays nobody else can. He could potentially make a play vs LSU or Georgia that decides the game. Yet, he's currently playing second fiddle to our starting 3.
The real question is, do you think Saban will ever tell one of our 3 current starters that they need to swap spots with Waddle on the depth chart? I don't see it happening, and imo that's a shame. Waddle is one of the most dangerous athletes in all of cfb, and he'll be 2nd string here until his Junior year - at best, he'll split time with one of the current 3

Our starting 3 should be:
Jeudy
Waddle
Smith/Ruggs
The idea of defenses having to account for both Jeudy and Waddle on every snap...

Why create conserversy where there is none?

Since receivers rotate so much, I don't think "starting" really means that much.
Waddle will likely soon get about as many snaps as the other three.

if it aint broke then don't fix it...…….duh...we have a great thing going with the 3 sophomores. Waddle gets plenty of PT's with the ones as it stands now.

There is to me.
Waddle is maybe the most dangerous person in all of cfb with the ball in his hands, and yet he's riding pine for most of the first team snaps.
It's a pretty simple question. Who's the most dangerous guy on our team with the ball in his hands? Waddle. Therefore, we should be finding ways to get him the ball as much as possible. Instead, we're trying to delicately rotate him into the lineup without hurting any feelings

And i guess my point is it shouldn't even be in question. This guy should be on the field for every snap, and make the defense account for him. He's too dangerous to be sitting on the bench

Do you ever think about anything other than what you believe Saban is doing wrong? It seems to consume you, and is the subject of every post you make (unless it's a thread about ranking some nonsense).
This OP isn't even worth commenting on. You like Waddle, and think he should play more. To that I say, "Ok."

He's still learning the offense. He didn't enroll early.
He's explosive and very good, but the guys in front of him are extremely good too. They know the offense and also block without the ball.
It's not like he isn't getting a lot of playing time. Receivers substitute for each other all of the time.
Who cares who starts as long as we win?

Anyone else notice the few drops he has had, maybe his route running isn't there yet, who knows

Was gonna point that out.

What else am I supposed to post about? The fact that we're so much better than everyone, we're gonna kick everyone's asses, go undefeated the next 2 years, etc?
I agree with Saban on almost everything. I just post little things I see that could be better

If he's dropped passes I certainly don't remember seeing it. His route running is there. He's been the leading receiver in multiple games already despite fewer snaps. What does that tell you? I think he's ready

Sometimes winning depends on who starts.
You never know. A 15 yard pass in open space might be a TD with Waddle, and a 30 yard gain with someone else. That could be the difference in a big game. That's why it's always best to utilize your best players

Look I know you are Waddle's brother-in-law, (And Tua's cousin & Najee Harris's uncle) but give it a rest. Waddle will get plenty of plays. Right now his biggest need is at PR. Remember the crapfest the punt return game was last year?

I’ll never be in favor of benching Devonte Smith. Never.
The minute he caught that pass and held on, he was forever in my heart.

Just look at the usernames.
It's the same miserable people projecting themselves in every thread or making threads.
They literally look for something to complain about.

Why not?

So you want to sit the guys that DID make plays that decided the Georgia game?

Why should he?
Waddle gets featured as a punt returner. We have three potential first round draft picks at WR. Why sit either of them?
