I know we have zero talent that is painfully obvious

But is anyone else concerned with all of the mental mistakes our guys make? From the 12 men in formation last week to all of the offsides penalties this week seems like qe make alot of bad decisions that you could blame on coaching

The special teams meltdowns are completely on the coaches. We literally look like we have no idea what to do on special teams.

I'm concerned, but willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on offense until we upgrade our talent, but we better see a huge improvement next season.

Do you really think that the players have not been told to stay in their lanes. The whole team ran to one side of the field. I can assure you that they have had it hammered into them since middle school to not do that.

Don’t remember us jumping offsides so much when Caldwell was here the first time

It's almost like we're more aggressive on defense or something. Weird how that works.

Turns out that the only thing #uncommon about the players Bert targeted was the profound lack of mental and physical toughness and resiliency.

It's almost like the game against Auburn where the oline had multiple penalties but STorey didnt hit the ground until the 3rd quarter. Is there a correlation?

If only I could collect the tears of the sky screamers on this board and use them to wipe off my rose colored glasses. If only.........

Bert recruited mentally week players. That is what was uncommon.

Not much coaching required for kickoff coverage. Stay in your lanes. It is pretty simple. When players don't stay in their lanes and don't listen to coaching, you get a return for a TD on the opening kickoff.

If you watch the replay, two to three of our players collide in the same lane and he runs right past them. Its pee wee football 101 that some of these kids can't seem to grasp.

Punt coverage is much better. Morris also implemented tons of starters on punt team it seemed like yesterday.

I get that it's easy to pick apart my post, but it's still true. We have give up KO return TDs, punt return TDs, we miss FGs like crazy, we get our punts blocked, we have had several short punts, and we have no return game of our own. Hell, we fielded a punt yesterday inside the 10 when he should have let that go. We are bad on ST. It is what it is, but this team looks unprepared on ST.

I'm not bashing Morris for it, but I also think it's fair criticism.

Chad Morris was a good offensive coordinator. He was a good high school head coach. He's not SEC head coach material.

It wasn't really an attempt to pick apart every part of your post.

For me special teams are the most mental part of the game. I think we can all agree that this team collectively, might be the most mental weak team we have seen put on Razorback uniforms. Blown leads after blown leads. Second half melt downs galore. Mostly under Bret.

Special teams is simply knowing one assignment and one assignment only. Stay in your lanes and break down. Same with punt return. Stay in your lanes. I saw some improvement in most areas yesterday. Certainly none on the opening kick.

We literally have guys on this team who cannot either A)remember what to do, B)Just do not care what to do, C)Just not disciplined enough.

I go with C simply based on the observation of everything else related to this current roster. It is going to take time.

I played with guys in college who had legit NFL talent. It has always bothered me when guys give a crap meter was so low, that they didn't even realize they weren't just letting the team down when they took plays or games off, they were letting themselves down. This team is full of guys like that. It is something instilled in them over time and it can't be changed quickly, unfortunately.

Coaches who demand things of players usually have less of these guys. Coaches who have flip flop Fridays and do not demand much of players on the field usually have a multitude of these players. Players who are only held accountable for showing up to class, but can be lazy on the field are what we have. We do not have players who are used to being held accountable in all facets of being student athletes.
