He's only been sacked 4 times But he does hold onto the ball more this year for some reason.

I don’t know about that. Purdue called 10 run plays and still ended with almost 600 yards and 37 points. The defense just has to play better. There were just way too many blown coverages especially by the linebackers and safteys.
Yep. The back seven is a problem, but if they don't give the QB time to carve them up they stand a better chance, yes? It can't get any worse than Purdue, so they might as well go down bringing the heat.

PO jr. You are missing the point. I think most of the Mizzou Fans believe our secondary can’t stop your receivers.
My thoughts and some others is we have to put more pressure on Fromm. Let him sling it, but load the box and dial up blitzes to keep him from just siting in the pocket.
This may allow UGA to score, but our hope is it becomes a shoot out and give us a chance. UGA posters have said you have a good OL and that they are returning 4 of 5 starters. Our OL is good as well and Lock is good in the pocket. This may give us a chance to keep it close

You are so right.
Letting Georgia pound us with that huge line in the running game is a sure loser for Mizzou. The only hope is to try to make it a shootout and hope Fromme makes enough mistakes to give us a puncher's chance.

Well, he's sacked at the highest percentage of any SEc QB relative to pressures. Meaning he isn't do a good job of avoiding what rush does get to him and his accuracy goes way down when pressured. The data is in the OP.
If we sit back and play coverage it's very likely that will get very little rush and he'll pick us apart. Our best chance of getting some stops in this game is to be extremely aggressive on defense and try to creat some disruption. I'm not even saying it will work. I'm just saying it's our best opportunity.
We have nothing to lose essentially and really need to go down swinging in this game.

I'm not sure I've ever seen BO call a game like he's got nothing to lose. And that is what needs to happen here. Can he do it?

Well, he went for it on 4th down 3 times last week. Once in his own territory.
That's pretty damn aggressive no?

Are we planning on rushing the same players who couldn't get any pressure on Blough?

Purdue game was the first time I’d ever seen Barry flash a set of balls.
Flaccid or Steel. Never woulda guessed that he’s go for it on 4th twice. Wish he had those balls against Texas.

You mean the game where the offense couldn’t do anything right?
You could probably find a lot of risks that he’s taken over his first 2.5 years on the job.

I hear you. And I agree with the strategy that you guys want to use. But the issue is he's only been pressured 10 times. That's not a huge data set to go from.

Fair point. Still our best chance imo

Just saw this stat and wanted to share it. It looks like he had a better game than expected when pressured but the rest of the team struggled for the most part.

Fromm’s rating went up to 89.2 against the blitz, according to PFF. He was 7-for-11 for 146 yards and two touchdowns when Missouri came after him.

We never pressured him though. Our blitz never made it. Pretty easy to throw against a blitz when it gets picked up
Posted on 9/25/18 at 9:44 am to JesusQuintana
Fair enough. I just thought it was relative to the previous discussion but it wasn't. I had to work so I missed the game altogether.

Mizzou’s defense needs to become like some of the early Stec defenses. Those didn’t have great pass rushers and gave up lots of yards, but got critical stops and turnovers.

It was relevant. A lot of guys questioned our ability to be effective with the blitz and they were right. We couldn’t get to Fromm and he made us pay
