At all? Even next season, or with 3 years...
Following such a clusterfrick, recruiting will most likely suck.
Does anyone actually thing he will/can get it done and us be competitive?

No. It's why I'm upset. We're Kansas without the basketball. I would be in favor of dropping the sport rather than further humiliation

If he actually kept this entire class. Fired fry, and brought in an established O line coach, flipped some good offensive linemen, and started playing all of our freshman and young guns now. Ya in 3 years we would have the size and speed to compete against north texas.

Much like mentioned above, I don't think Frye will cut it, and Craddock likely won't either. We run 4 plays. Draw, Jet Sweep, Bomb it down field, or some variation of the read option.
No creativity whatsoever.
Holding this class together will be what determines his future. If it falls apart, he won't make it.
Its pretty evident there isn't much talent on this team right now at a lot of positions and at some point he has to start building for the future, and tell the upperclassmen who aren't cutting it to join the practice team.

If Noland, Jones or Jefferson is an actual QB, I think he can.

I don't think anything anymore. I am dead inside.

If we establish a better pay-for-play system then yes. I'm hoping he picked that up from Dabo and can use Jerry's backings.

I like Thunderhawg's phrasing on this subject:
quote:
If Chad Morris ever wins more than 9 games here I will surgically alter myself and suck my own dick and post pics on the rant. It ain't fricking happening, he ain't in over his head, hes fricking drowning and has drug the lifeguard down with him. frick this meth smoking conman I hope he OD's on Redbull on the fricking sideline. And frick Jerry Jones for sticking us with this cocksucker too.

Agreed. QB play is the tour de force of CFB right now. All of these G5 losses over the recent years bear that out.

Damn Rev. The only choice Chad has is to get players that can play his style.
My question is, what is his style? Can anyone tell me what our offensive plan is? We have no identity right now. I'm not even sure this staff knows what to do with the players on the roster. From my perspective, we look like a team that could be decent on offense with a power running game and some short/quick passes. We need to throw to the RBs more too.
Right now, this team is a mess.

We already knew this. We were all hanging on to the hope that we could muster out 6 wins. We can't. So let us see what happens the rest of the way.
Our narcissism as fans has led to petulant meltdowns that probably resemble Bert when told by Jen that hes not allowed to go for it on 4th down at Golden Corral.

Did we? I was one of the few fans that expected a losing record this season and we are worse than even I expected. Go back and look at Hawgeye's prediction thread if you need a refresher.

That, however, made me laugh and left me no other choice than to award you an upvote.
My point with this team is we look lost. Not just bad, but lost. Our players look like they have no idea what they're doing. The coaches need to get control. Quick example is the punt return TD we gave up yesterday.

I was made as welcome as a turd in a punch bowl around here, for having a contrary opinion on Morris and Chavis both. Expecting good things this early on is not realistic, and going torches and pitchforks on a new coach this early on only makes certain that the next coaching hire will be worse than this one.
Morris is picking up the pieces of a program that has been broken since Petrino wrecked his motorcycle. There is much more embarrassment to come on the football field. Melting over results 3 games into a new coach’s tenure should be as embarrassing as yesterday’s performance.

After Petrino came John L. which put a hold on recruiting & set Arkansas back in that arena, at least, two years. Then cam Bielema (mistake #1) who lost most of his assistants the first year which set the recruiting back another year. Bielema struggled with what he could get and Chad Morris (mistake #2) will do worse with what he has, so the answer to your question is a big NO!, how could he. He has a lot of rah rah and "put the hammer down", which doesn't win games. Question is will Hunter Yunachek have the guts to pull the plug on him after this 1 -11 seaston and not much better next year.

2 things Morris needs to do to keep the program barely alive... barely:
1. Win 3 games - beat Tulsa and find a way to win a conference game. Going 3-9 sucks. It's unacceptable and horrible but with a conference win it at least feels better than Bieleam's first year.
2. Keep the recruiting class intact. We can blame Bielema and the early signing period for one of our worst rated (due to class size) recruiting class. This class is now Chad's moving forward. He also needs to fix that damn fence. We currently have 2 instate players going to Ole Miss.... horrible. At least Bielema and Petrino lost recruits to teams who play for national titles. There is no reason to lose a player to a team we historically owned and is coming off of sanctions.
The final thing he could do is stop with the bullshite.
A. I don't know why our program insists on marketing coach-centric cliches and slogans but it needs to stop now. From "We didn't come to paint" to "Uncommon" to "Full Title Boogie and Hammer Down" STOP!!!!
We already have traditional slogans: Woo ( 2 O's) Pig Sooie..... Never Yield (not made by Jeff Long - it's in the fight song) and that is all we need.
B. Be genuine and honest. If you are pissed then show it... if you aren't then get the heck out of here because you should be pissed. The last loser gave us empty promises too .... don't promise - just deliver.
C. Open up practices. Nobody is spying on you to get an upper hand. North Texas watched 2 weeks of game footage to realize they could run a garbage punt return play on you... no spy needed. Let the fans or at least the media see why you are starting Cole over Ty etc.

That needs to go too. You don’t cut out just part of the cancer, you try and get it all.

In meantime you may question ole gotnaren's suggestion in the search for a HC. He recommended Les Miles, Norvell, S. Holtz. Any of the three would never lose to N. Texas State 'for crying out loud'. One of the three has National Champion credentials. Oh well, "we'll get em next year".
