I can’t find a single thing wrong with this sports take. I would have loved to win but he’s right IMO.

quote:

Jimbo Fisher and his Texas Aggies put on a show for the 100,000+ in attendance and more importantly for the 250-300 recruits (joking) there. And I will say this, and A&M fans you might want to put your hands over your ears, earmuffs if you will, IT WAS PERFECT the way it ended. It was perfect. As frustrated as you are, as upset as you may be about the call that wasn't, whether it went out bounds, but it was the perfect ending.

Had you won the game, you'd be talking like you are a national champion, this is the year you're going to change the fortunes of the A&M Aggies, in Jimbo we trust and so on and so forth. You're not ready for that.

That was an unbelievably fun college football game to watch, Kellen Mond was spectacular but luck was on your side. The balls literally had eyeballs that were getting to your receivers, I mean being tipped and caught and finding ways to barely miss the hands of Clemson defenders. It was a miracle, miracle 4th quarter and, in so being, those kids can't wait to go back to work, can't wait to get better. And in a year where Jimbo is putting the pieces together, that was the perfect ending because now you don't have the expectations necessarily of a national championship but you do have the expectations of a program that can.

And that's all you needed. You needed to impress those recruits. You needed them to believe in what's going to happen there, to be part of something that can be special and I think it was absolutely perfect in the way that it happened.

We said before the game that it was an unbelievable opportunity, a culture changing opportunity, not only putting on great football for the 100,000+ at Kyle Field, all into the pomp and circumstance that is Aggie football, but also to welcome the attention of all of these recruits that are always thinking Ohio State, Georgia Alabama.

Well Jimbo Fisher has a cape. He's got one. And as a cape bearer, you're going to pay attention. And you get the marquee game, the Herbstreit game if you will. you get the attention of the country and you put THAT kind of show on? That is sensational. And as hard as it is for the Aggie fans to stomach that it didn't end in victory, it's perfect!

It slows down the expectation train, it allows for the belief train to take hold because now Mike Elko Jimbo Fisher and company can get those guys to do the little things better. That defensive backfield has to be able to see the ball in the air and make plays on the ball rather than running into wide receivers and creating another 15 yard penalty and so forth. All those little details can be shown on film can be preached, because every kid in that locker room is believing. Believing.

Who is ever going to talk about Santino Marichol again? No one cares about that anymore. A&M football is back and everybody is fired up as they can be in College Station. And in 2 weeks they go to Bama. If they put together that kind of effort again? It's going to be as exciting as anything we've ever seen. And it doesn't need to end in victory. It just needs to be another game where you see what can be in the Jimbo era. I'm excited for them.

Ultimately this was a perfect ending and I'm very excited about the future of A&M football.

Bama’s defense is very young and weaker than Clemson’s this year. The problem is Bama has a fmgreat vertical passing game this year and will get a bunch of chunk plays. We won’t win but I could see us putting up a good number of yards and points.

We lost the turnover battle with Clemson by two turnovers

Win the turnover battle with Bama, win the game

I don’t expect us to beat Bama either. Just trying to follow the logic of RN’s argument, which would seem to dictate that it would be best for us not to beat Bama.

RN’s take was spot on. Anybody thinking we are rolling through the SEC is a dilutional idiot. It’s a grind and anybody can lose at anytime. Pump the breaks. Look at our starting OL and count the stars ... they are pretty low rated.

Now the good... we’ve got good coaches, good recruiters and our team is motivated. I’ve thought about this and I’ve never been as ‘happy’ after a loss as I was after this one. Because I can buy into the ‘FUTURE’ while watching my current team compete like hell. Let’s enjoy this season and not become the sunshine pumpers that are on texags. And if we get beat by bama by 14/21 but our boys play hard ... then I’m going to be happy because no way we will ever see 59-0 or 77-0 under this staff. The future is bright.
