ESPN
Tennessean
When they cancel these games why don't they just move the game to the opponents field or do similar to what UVA is doing and use a team who is away that weekend for their field?
WVU vs NCST has been cancelled, why not move to Morgantown?
ECU vs VPI has been cancelled, why not move to neutral inland?
UNC vs UCF has been cancelled, why not move to Orlando or safe empty neutral?

I think they should be required to play the game so everyone can move on.
Step one is try to play at opponents stadium, two is a nuetral field.

South Carolina should move the Marshall game there and they can just have a double-header/football festival type thing.

Do you understand at all the logistics necessary to move a college football game?
Negotiations for a stadium
Police presence
Security and support team at the stadium
Hotel rooms for the team
dining arrangements
Travel arrangements, air or bus
Fans travel and lodging arrangements
Leaving family during a storm and those concerns
Returning home after a storm, can you get back?
It's not that easy, but it's Weds. so get right on it!
You have 24hrs before the storm comes ashore.

Teams do it so it's not impossible.

Didn't say it was impossible, just very difficult and time is running out, today!

Not with only 3-4 days to make it happen. The teams would most likely play in an empty or almost empty stadium.
The Gator fan has it right.

This is not an insurmountable and easily covered in the massive TV payouts from the past few years.

It may not be, but plenty of money to do something.
When the GA Dome got damaged the Bumbles let the SEC use their empty arena. Seating was limited to 300 per school (300 for UK and 300 for UGA) but the game went on and was not cancelled.
As they are doing this several days in advance, solutions can be found.

The teams were already there, as were the fans.
I will agree that moving a football game to another stadium is easy, if you do not expect your fans to make it.

So, yes there is time

My mistake, edited
Play it in Morgantown this year
Play it @ NC ST however time needs to bring it back in balance
Are you telling me Morgantown could not sell that stadium out (or at least fill it pretty full) in 3 days?

Hotels are super expensive in Nashville this week. Worse than usual.

This is much harder on the team affected and gives the other team a huge advantage especially if they move the game to their home stadium but sometimes that team defies all odds and upsets the home team, 16-10.

That might be correct IF there was not a hurricane bearing down on the region. It is not just getting there, it is getting back.
Just a question, have you ever been through a hurricane, from start (prep) to finish (cleanup)? There are still houses here in Central Florida with blue tarps on the roof(s) from Irma.

Step 1 should be if they happen to have a common Bye week then play the game at that time instead in the stadium it was originally set for.
Step 2 would be to play it instead in a Neutral Site.
Step 3 is to play in the opponent's stadium.

Offset by free admission
Besides, the Big Cigars don't care when they have their own RV's or planes
Point is, they arrived at a solution rather than cancel the game.
Here is the hidden gem...
With a "free" game folks that may never get a shot at live event will go and may become future fans of the sport. Also, not like they will not make some coin off concessions and such.

Moved it, won it! 16-10

True

Not really
They had sold like 70,000 tickets in the GA Dome
They had less than 1,000 tickets in the Bumbles arena
Most all those tickets when to player families, staff, and a handful of top donors so UK lost the advantage of having the "Blue Mist" in CatLanta

So you are saying moving it to Morgantown would not draw fans?
