D is unbroken this year so far. Zero points, Zero yards.

But you can't doubt the defense. Just ask Auburn.
Can you ask us?
Sure. They said:
LSU stuns No. 10 Auburn, riding clutch defense to 271-23 win (second half shut out)
Oh, but as for you. Good job. That's what, two in twenty years? You had a good team, and we didn't have the same team that we did against Auburn. If you were so much better year-long, why this:
LSU third; you fourth

You don't? Man, you are pretty dumb.

None of the starting DL on this years team was available half way through the second quarter in the State game last year. You earned that win and make no excuse for the loss but to use last years result to predict this years defense is ignorant.
You do know that is exactly what your fellow Tiger fan did, right? That’s the only reason I said that.

enough with State. LSU beats State by 20 this year

Well we actually had some of these DL for the Auburn game so his use of those results is much more relevant while being irrelevant IMO if that makes sense.

We win the game but likely not by 20. I see a low scoring close game that LSU squeaks out but 3-7 points.

maybe if every offense they play against catches a bad case of dengue fever or West Nile they will be the top defense. Both are real possibilities.
Any post where you can squeeze in a Dengue Fever reference gets an up vote from me.

Since 2014, history tells us that outside of last year’s outlier, it’ll be less than a touchdown. So I agree with your spread, but obviously hoping for the opposite result.

You mean me? No, that's not what I did. I'm saying we historically have great defenses, and there's no indication to suggest any different this year; in fact, we're better all over on paper at the very least.

Ah, so that’s what “Ask Auburn” means. Got it.

Last time LSU thought they had the best defense in the country their offense didn't cross the 50 yrs line till 7 mins left in the game to the team that actually had the best defense in the country ... That team still has the best defense in the country

Nice to have the top preseason defense in the country.
When the season is over, the Tide will have the top defense like usual.

LSU stuns No. 10 Auburn, riding clutch defense to 27-23 win (second half shut out)
quote:Man, I'm sure going to hate AU having to face all those guys again. With them on your team, y'all are pretty much unbeatable.
D.J. Chark returned a punt 75 yards for a touchdown, Connor Culp kicked field goals of 42 and 36 yards inside the final three minutes, and LSU erased a 20-point deficit on its way to a 27-23 victory over No. 10 Auburn on Saturday.
Russell Gage made a diving 14-yard touchdown reception and had a 70-yard run that set up another TD in the first half, when LSU closed to 23-14 to set up a tense finish.
Arden Key's sack of Jarrett Stidham with 2 seconds left squelched Auburn's last hope of an improbable comeback, sending the volume in Tiger Stadium about as high as it has been this season despite an unusual number of empty seats visible for a competitive SEC game.
After LSU quarterback Danny Etling kneeled to end it, LSU players streamed wildly onto the field and then ran toward the corner of the end zone closest to their locker room to acknowledge the school's frenzied student section.
Derrius Guice rushed for 71 hard yards for LSU, including a crucial third-down conversion in which he ran through a tackler at the first-down marker, setting up the go-ahead field goal.
Etling finished 13 of 24 for 206 yards and one TD. Chark had 150 yards receiving on five catches. Stephen Sullivan scored LSU's opening TD on a fourth-down end around from a yard out.
Especially Connor Culp, his clutch kick to put y'all ahead was the real difference in the game, and almost certainly saved Orgeron's job. Must be comforting to know he's gonna be trotting onto the field in those high-pressure situations this year. Hope your fans are still sending him encouragement via Twitter like last year, I'm sure that did wonders for his confidence.

It is surprising how understated op is ...on Tr it is “best defense in CFB history.”
Funny thing though... not one of down linemen would start at Alabama. Auburn, State or possibly Ga. Only one LB has known SEC physical talent and he is still a work in progress...the rest are an odd assortment of cobbled together recycled RBs, DEs, or “Aths.” The secondary has one returning starter.
This post is an example of (1) looking only at your own team not being aware of the strength of opponents; (2) massive group think. When enough people say something (without any of those bothersome details) often enough, people on Tr believe it. Then that cesspool overflows onto this forum as breathless pimply faced teens announce stupidity with certainty.

OH yea that team that beat the National Champion and 2 other BCS bowl champions that finished in the top 5 as well as a SEC east champ UGA. That team was really really really really good.

Lawrence and Fehoka would start or play starters reps for every single one of those teams you listed. Alabama O linemen said Lawrence was the best player he's ever faced. Quit being ignorant.
