That's correct despite Carleton Ravens coach Dave Smart putting in a big effort to get Duke to play in Ottawa.
U.S. coaches are reluctant to play Carleton because it is an outstanding program that has won 13 of 16 national championships and usually wins about five of six from NCAA games played each year in August.
Doesn't look good on the resume saying you lost to a Canadian team but the Ravens would be very competitive in Division 1. Also NCAA coaches take a lot of criticism from at home losing to a Canadian team.
No shame losing to Carleton. The Ravens beat Wisconsin by 16 points the year the Badgers went to the Final Four.

Top 10 probably a couple of years ago but more like 14 or 15 most times.
Good club this year. And they were missing one of their very good guards last night.
Was at both the Cincinnati and Ole Miss games and the Ravens dominated offensively, defensively (nobody plays defence like these guys) and physically.
Used to be that Canadian teams could be pushed around by NCAA teams. Not anymore ... at least with the top Canadian clubs.
I would point you to this story in Grantland ... LINK / on the Ravens program from a few years ago.

Well look my friend at the Bearcats and Ole Miss scores.
Says it all, my friend.
It's a hell of a program with no athletic scholarships and still it beats the NCAA.
What are you guys doing down there?

They are a good Canadian program. The last time they lost, funny enough, was to Towson 64-76 last year 2 days before they played and beat Alabama 84-71. That Towson team went 18-14, 8-10 in the CAA.
After beating Bama, they beat 4 more U.S. teams, New Hampshire, Canisius, Northeastern & Saint Francis. Then went undefeated in Canadian league play.

Ravens have three games left against NCAA.
Two against South Dakota State and one against Maryland Eastern Shore.
Should be fun to watch and to compare those teams with the Bearcats and Ole Miss.

One other thing that might be of interest.
Carleton plays its home games at the Ravens Nest which holds only about 2,000 people.
The ticket price of each NCAA game is $11 Cdn. which is the same price as regular season games.
Explain to me how the Ravens can beat huge NCAA programs with a 2,000-seat home court, $11 ticket price and no athletic scholarships.
The philosophy in Canadian universities, for what it is worth, is education first.
