If you live in Nashville, do you root for Vandy on the side?

Is it acceptable to root for Vanderbilt if I live in Nashville even though I’m a die hard Tigers fan?
I see no problem here but they are in the SEC.

You should root for the entire conference on the side

Yea, especially since they're in the East. I actually find myself pulling for Tennessee as well. A lot of Vols here, the majority of them have been good reps for the fanbase. It's also a little nostalgic of the 1998 SECCG.

I could see myself doing that. especially since they’re in a rebuild. They won’t be playing my team for a very long time so I don’t see a problem in liking the Vols but that’s different than liking Vandy.
What are Vandy home games like? Haha I can’t imagine

I never bought into this. I don’t understand how positive press for your competition is good for you. There are a select few in this conference I would pull for (LSU, SC, UGA, Auburn sometimes), but that’s about it.
ETA: And even then, it depends on their competition

I thought it was acceptable to root for a team from the other division.

Screw Vandy, I catch an MTSU game every so often.

I will never root for the SEC after the way Auburn was treated in 2010.

I wouldn’t expect any east team to like Vandy on the side.
The equivalent would be an east fan such as Georgia liking Arkansas on the side bc they live here and the two teams never play.

I definitely do this, mainly because it really rustles the jimmies of the Big 12 fans in KC

My son is an upcoming freshman at vandy and is in the marching band so we will root for them. Also going to visit him in the fall and see a couple of games.

Vandy is the only legit team in Tennessee these days.
Might as well pull for the flagship

I’ve thought about this as well since my family and I will be moving up there next spring. The thing that’s keeping me from it is their baseball program. I just hate the way they go about things. Not to mention, football game day there is just awful. Now, if either of my boys get scholarships, anchor down.
