How accurate is FPI compared to results on the field? Last year the FPI was 8-4 in predicting the outcome of LSU's games.

The truth is that no one knows much about this LSU squad. Defense is the only sure bet, honestly. But, LSU has the ponies to beat anyone on the schedule if the Coaches do their job, which is the biggest question mark, IMO.

Will get berated by delusional LSU fans for this but here’s my prediction for 2018 season:

Miami - L
SE Louisiana - W
at Auburn - L
LA Tech - W
Ole Miss - W
at Florida - L
Georgia - L
Mississippi St - W
Alabama - L
at Arkansas - L
Rice - W
at Texas A&M - W

6-6 and could easily see that turning into 5-7.
Hope I’m wrong but just being realistic here.

- O is not a good head coach. I liked him as a d line coach and recruiter but he chokes under pressure as head coach.
I predict there will be multiple times where he will face criticism this year and completely throw others under the bus.
- Ensminger has not been a full time OC for 20 years
- We don’t have a QB
- We don’t have a RB
- Our receivers are avg at best
- Our O line is avg/below avg
+ Only bright spot will be our defense

LSU needs to clean house after this year.
- President F. King Alexander
- AD Joe Alleva
- Ed O
- Ensminger
All of them need to go.

All of your Ls seem reasonable/logical, but I do not see how we lose to Arkansas unless the wheels come off totally.

I'd also move Miami, Florida, and State to toss-ups. But I'd be lying if I said I have confidence in the UGA, AU, and Bama games. I put LSU at about 70% chance of loss in those.

Meh. I feel LA kids are a bit overrated out of high school. Steele stated they were dumb and couldn't grasp basic concepts.

Then what is Saban doing?

I think they'll beat A&M on the rd and Miss St at home. They could beat Miami too. Lsu might lose to a troy, but they still have the talent to beat anyone too

I'm thinking this is the year A&M finally beats LSU, especially if the first 11 games go bad. A&M will struggle early in the year, but they'll be better at the end of the season because Jimbo Fisher is a good coach.

Good coaches normally have teams who get better at the end of the season, and by then, Fisher's teachings will have taken hold.

Once we skull frick Miami, all that will change.

Based on our depth for the newly rebuilt lines here is how I factor this season. Mind you it 100% rests on us starting off beating the shite out of Miami.

All of these are false. We absolutely have talent at all of these positions. In fact, we have more talent than every team at these positions we face this year except 2 teams. Bama and UGA.

according to LSU Players on NFL Roster..

there are over 60 LSU players currently on an NFL Roster...

sure some will not make it.. others will end up on the practice squad...

but for now... its over 60.

Facts are stubborn things aren't they..

To be honest, I'm thinking LSU will have about .500 year. Those results should get O fired, but given our incompetent and corrupt administration, I don't think that will happen.

In my opinion, LSU's ceiling is 8 wins (which should also get O fired). However, it is also possible, but unlikely, that Aranda elevates to be the real leader of the program and O has enough sense to allow him slowly to grow into the real HC while O plans to retire and turn over the reigns in 2 to 3 years. I admit that what I just said is incredibly wishful thinking but it is what LSU fans are left with.

No one can make a credible case that Orgeron has the vision, discipline, and skill to be an elite coach.

All that being said, I sincerely hope that the team proves otherwise allowing me to watch in wonder how LSU succeeds in beating teams like Alabama and Georgia despite a severe coaching deficit.

So we have more talent at QB, RB, WR AND O Line than every other team we plays this year besides Georgia and Bama...

Well who is more talented that wouldn't be up for debate? SUre a few teams like AU can make the case, but LSU is consistently one of if not the top 3 in talent every year.

There are other factors, but being that you so negative, you already know that.

Stidham while highly ranked out of highschool, looked like shite in tiger Stidham last year with elite DB's on him.

We have just as much talent as anyone and most often more than all those teams right now outside of Bama and UGA.

I won't berate you, but that seems a bit pessimistic.

Lemme try:

Georgia - L
Mississippi St - W
Alabama - L
at Arkansas - W
Rice - W
at Texas A&M - W

9-3 seems reasonable to expect, imo.

I don't know where you're getting this, but one of the things the NC is directly responsible for is clock management. Maybe you haven't watched any LSU games since Miles left, but O has GREATLY improved clock management from the sideline. Time management is also a good indicator of how a coach operates under pressure.

- Ensminger has not been a full time OC for 20 years

So? Canada was an OC the season before LSU hired him.
quote:

- We don’t have a QB
- We don’t have a RB

Now you're just being pissy. LSU currently has 5 QBs and 6 RBs on campus, with another QB walking on.
