It's pretty obvious why the rule is 2 years. It's been explained to you and others in this thread why it's two years and why it's appropriate to be two years. I cannot help it if LSU failed you so much so that you cannot grasp the situation.
I am not saying he should be suspended for two years because that's the rule. I am saying he should be suspended for two years because it makes sense. One year for the test itself and one year as a deterrent for cheating the system. Those are two completely different things.
And dont say he ultimately passed the test so that excuses one year. That is absurd. He probably cheated on that test too.

What are your feelings on Todd Gurley?

im just happy the NCAA is catching these cheaters. no room for that in the sport

So then what is your argument for why two years is too long?
You can start with one year for PEDS. Is that too harsh? Someone trying to gain an unfair advantage in sport. I think it's reasonable.
Now with the punative year for tampering. What about that is wrong? It's too harsh and unneeded because anyone that uses PEDs will try to cheat the system anyway and use someone else's piss? Remind me again how Will Grier got busted tampering with the test. Oh, that's right. He didn't. I thought anyone who used PEDs would try to cheat the system? I'm pretty sure you said that, maybe it was another poster.

He's a dumb arse that fricked over his team/University for a few hundred dollars. He made a selfish mistake and paid his price. Still love him, though.

If you're so dumb to truly believe 2 years is really justified, half of someone's college career, then, well, go ahead and go drown in that sea of stupidity.

The test is MONITORED, how else do you think they catch anyone tampering? If you want to tamper, that's your prerogative, but that's just a pretty sure fire way to get caught and get a suspension in this case. Again, I'm sure Fulton absolutely feels dumb for passing this test in the end, so it definitely wont all be people who "know" they would fail. 1 year is plenty in either case, and gets the message across, dont fail and dont tamper. It's a tough penalty that gets the message across and doesnt totally ruin a 1st time offender's career basically.

Don't fricking cheat if you want to play. It's really not that hard. If you don't take PEDs and you don't do drugs, you have no reason to tamper with a drug test.
He knew if he got caught he would have to sit out 2 years and he did it anyway. He thought he could cheat and lie his way out of the situation rather than facing the consequences like a man. He's probably been cheating his whole life and it finally caught up to him.
I have no sympathy for cheaters. Sorry.

You LSU fans keep saying this but it's not true. The point is don't cheat or you sit out a year. And if you try to lie and cover up your cheating, you get two years. One year does not get the message across to not tamper. One year is for cheating in the first place. Jesus Butt fricking Christ. Why is that so hard to grasp?

He actually had no idea, most people had no idea till it was found out, which caused a bunch of "WTF" reactions. You really think every true freshman knows every single rule the NCAA has and every penalty behind it? Dont be so dumb. There's literally hundreds of rules/guidelines etc...That's not to say what he did he didn't know he was in the wrong, but he had no idea it would cause him to lose half his career just like that as it being the only thing they suspend you 2 years for.

You're just ridiculous, he actually PASSED the test.

Taking a whole year away doesnt get the message across, get out of here. It absolutely does. My god you're a moron.

Don't break the rules. Simple
Is that why A&M is tied with Auburn in the league for the most major infractions per the NCAA, because it's so simple?
Uh, yeah.
You cheaters shouldn't be wagging your fingers at anybody.

Yes, he went to court and if you look into that whole deal as that time... it was said many times that OU used the redshirt tag on him that year.
It doesn't matter if they did or didn't. He left for the NFL after his third year. Whether or not he was redshirted is immaterial. He played 2 seasons at Oklahoma.

Bu is this was something stupid related to UGA, you of some of your UGA fan friends would be arguing the same shite.
We didn't like Gurley's suspension....we get it. but it is what it is.

Exactly how did OU benefit from a red shirt?
OU didn't... but Mixon did. Had he opted not to head to the NFL, then he could have played another 2yrs, correct? What should have happened was he should have lost a year. So if he wanted to stay at OU, he could only stay one year.
Posted on 7/17/18 at 3:05 pm to Barstools
they only care because it is a LSU player. If it was a Bama or A&M player they would support the 2 year ban

Is it the rule? yes. Then how would it be fare if he was not suspended for two years? He knew the rule and he made the decision. He made the decision. Now he has to pay the price. You can skyscream all you want, but he is the one that caused this, not the NCAA.

If Fulton was smart enough to actually buy a fake penis (a guy on our team in my days had one. cost almost a 1k but it was matched to his skin tone and everything) he would have a great chance of getting away with it.
The dude tried to freaking poor from one cup to another

You guys continue to live in a "what if" world, don't you? he went to the NFL and played two seasons at Oklahoma. That is what we all know. Anything else is all speculation. Are you saying that he would not have gone to the NFL had that incident not happened? that's silly.

You keep going off on this tangent, nobody is arguing about following through with a penalty to a rule, we are saying the penalty itself is stupid and ruining of a career, please stop playing dumb here.
