Les Miles wins 9 games and LSU fans are burning there couches, pissed off they can’t finish ahead of Bama.

Ed Orgeron wins 9 games and LSU fans are saying he didn’t do that bad, and we competed with Bama!

It’s quite hilarious how far expectations have fallen for some of these guys simply because he talks like them. Many of them won’t admit it but of course they would take Les. They actually expected to beat everyone they played when he was there.

He still had Les’s players everywhere, 5 of those schools fired there coaches after too. You can also make the case they all upgraded. Better coaches + worse LSU roster (led by O) = bad news for LSU.

frick & No. Orgeron probably isn't the answer, but Les definitely was not the answer. Les mismanaged the roster so badly that LSU is still paying for it. LSU could have all the 5* receivers, DBs, and RBs in the world, but without a QB to throw the ball and lineman to block and defend, LSU was last year's team.

It appears that Orgeron is rebuilding the trenches. I am willing to let this play out through his current contract.

LSU has 10 OLineman and 14 DLineman on NFL rosters right now. Are you really trying to say Les Miles teams weren’t tough in the trenches? That’s not how I remember it.

It's not that Les was only winning 9 games. It's that he kept doing the same thing and refused to change. For one at least Coach O seems to have narrowed in on a type of QB he wants to recruit, Big pro style QB's. Les would recruit a pro-style QB and dual threat QB in the same class.

How about this you worry about the Florida team. This year might not be a great year for LSU football. However, it looks like 2019 will be a year that LSU might be able to compete to potentially win the SEC with the returning talent and having an experienced QB. If LSU doesn't in 2019 we will probably be talking about hiring a new coach at LSU.

Next year U, so sad what’s happened to y’all Miles never once asked you guys to be patient, he expected to win every game. Miles won to many games for y’all to throw shade at him like you do. He was the most consistent winning coach in LSU history, he won a title, went to another, recruited lights out to the point your called NFLU with Bama. So what if you had a couple bad years on offense Les was still a top 3 coach in the league when he left.

I mean that’s not true. I would rather O over McElwain, Butch Jones, John L. Smith etc.

With that said O is/was a known commodity. I would have rather taken a chance on a big name coordinator with potential before handing the keys to a known failure.

I'm guessing you didn't hang around here much when Miles was still the coach at LSU. During that time it was a constant "miles win with Saban's players", "the game has passed him by". Then LSU moves on and its like a light switch was flipped. Immediately every started with "what is LSU doing", "miles is a great coach".

you don't really believe this do you? If he didn't have Mettenberger, Jarvis, and Odell on the team in 2015 he might of been fired sooner.

If given the option going into the season, and you could trade Les for O at this moment, would you??

Would Les be my first choice? No.

Would I take Les over O? Hell yes.

for those who disagree- if you are a fan of a different school and you HAVE to replace your current coach, and your ONLY choice is Les or O: who do you pick?

hmmm, QB's signed by LSU since Miles was fired;

Brennan (prostyle) and Narcisse (dual threat), recruited by Miles, signed by O. Same class, 1 year ago. None out of high school the following year.
Burrow- grad transfer from Ohio St; mobile (dual threat?) white guy (prostyle? )

offensive systems under O:
interim year- promoted the TE coach to run Cameron's scheme.
Last year- hired Canada for huge money to come run his offense. Decided to get rid of Canada before the bowl game.
This year- promoted the TE coach again, a guy who previously said he doesn't want to do this.

It's fair to say Miles didn't have a set plan at QB, but at least he seemed to have some plan on offense (like it or not). O hasn't established anything yet.

If my only options are Miles or Ogeron, I am taking Miles and it is not close. Miles got complacent and was due to be released, but there are only a handful of coaches I wanted him replaced with and a DL coach was not one of them.

There it is..i was wondering how long it was gonna take.

Burrow the savior. Since, you know, hes been a backup his entire career at OSU, but magically is gonna turn around LSU..man i can wait to stomp mudholes in your asses in 2019.
