One of SECLizardKing's AMA answers got me thinking about this topic.

Do you believe in ghosts, spirits, angels or demons? Have you ever had any first hand experience with any of them?

I never believed in ghosts or spirits. However, after some experiences in a house I recently moved from (finding things belonging to a little girl who used to live there, voices in the night, girl's voice talking to my dog, finding items from prior residents mysteriously placed in the house), I believe in ghosts.

I also believe in angels and demons, but have no first-hand experiences with them (of which I am aware).

The science folk will say their is no "testable in a laboratory" proof that such things exist. I will point out that our bodies are in part, one big sensory input system. A scientific tool if you will. Have you ever walked by a person in a store or wherever and the hair on the back of your neck "stood up" and you "felt evil" for seemingly no reason at all? I don't mean right after watching the Exorcist on Halloween night, I mean out of the blue.

Supernatural stuff exists. Our tech isn't up to snuff on that yet. But 100 years ago, we couldn't prove any of the exotic particles we have now cataloged existed either. One day, even Kentucker will believe!

I don't believe in angels and demons in the biblical sense, but I do believe there are things that exist beyond the three dimensional world that we cannot perceive.

As for the types of spirits that are like a civil war soldier appearing on a battle field screaming at night, or a little kid that walks down the hall laughing, etc that are always doing the same things or same types of things, perhaps those are residual energies leftover from certain moments that are still sending out ripples through time

I've got a buddy from HS that has a fairly successful paranormal YouTube channel. I've been wanting to have a discussion with him about this type of stuff. He's traveled all over the southeast to various spots to make videos, and in the years right after HS he hiked the entire Appalachian three times and mentioned he had some experiences there as the trail passes directly over a couple different civil war battlefields and sites.

To believe is to accept without evidence. So, nope.

I don’t believe in ghost. I believe in spirits. I believe there are good spirtits, which I think of as angels, and bad spirits which in my view are demons. . But I don’t believe in Angels and Demons in the moviesque way, like Angels in the Outfield, and some of the horror films with Demons. I think of them as spirits that influence our thought processes, and it’s a daily battle between good and evil decision making for most individuals.

I don't particularly believe in them no. I can't rule out their existence but until I have fairly solid proof I'm inclined to disbelieve.

I do, however, believe that there is a God. Mostly because only the diabolical intervention of a Divine Being could explain the misery that the University of Arkansas athletics inflicts upon its fans every year. God exists and he's POed at Arkansas for some reason.

I haven't seen definitive proof that they exist, nor that they do not exist. So I'll withhold judgememt.

I do not believe in ghosts and I would be pretty depressed if I knew they existed. To think that we just leave our body and roam the earth as spirit people not really able to interact with the living sucks.

Demons and Angels? You bet.

When I was moving out of my old house (built in the first decade of the 1900's), where I discovered a little girl's homework from the 1940's and other belongings buried in the attic, heard the voices in other rooms at night, and heard the little girl call my dog's name, I found something that had never been there before.

The last place I checked to make sure that nothing was left behind was in the attic. I ascended the stairs as I had done many times before, but when I got to the top and pulled the string to ignite the old incandescent bulb that hung above the stairs, there appeared an old cigar box sitting at the top of the stairs. Inside the box was an empty bottle of perfume, a couple of empty bottles of nail polish, rosin for a violin bow, and a little girl's tap shoes. (See below)

My wife was beside herself when she saw it and refused to let me take them with us. I felt bad that I had lived there for 10 years and whatever it was in the house had never bothered me, had obviously packed its stuff to go with us, and now I was leaving it behind.

It could just be an energy or remnant of the soul left behind, rather than an entire soul.

I'm not really sure. I definitely don't believe in spooky ghosts as they've been popularized in movies and shows and stuff.

I do believe, or at least am willing to indulge people, on certain cryptids and I think they're tied to different blood lines and cultures. For example, I know for a fact that elves have been interested in my Mother's family for centuries and followed them from Sweden to the New World...and I also believe in certain Indian ones like the Wendigo. Most of these actors like trolls, elves, and fairies aren't uniformly good or bad like in movies. The only halfway agreeable ones are the dwarves.

this should be the litmus test for so many things in life. It's right up there with "Have you ever been an ICP fan"
