Jimbo knows he needs to look outside of Tejas for LBs.

In general LBs out of Texas have been sub par the last several years. The 7 on 7 and spread offenses have moved all the beat athletes to WR, TE, and offense.

There haven't been since the 7 on 7 craze convinced every potential LB recruit thinks they are RBs or oversized WR. Texas HS have failed their players because now the only college recruits are DBs or WRs

I think it has affected yalls DL play more than anything. Physicality is not emphasized much with spread offenses.

Nah there have been tons of great DL talent over the years in Texas.

Agreed, it's why i want A&M to get their front seven guys in LA, TN, GA, FL, etc. I'm not sold on TX high school recruits at those positions. I'd rather have a high 3 star front seven guy from those states then a lower 4 star guy from TX

I hope 7 on 7 ball and spread offenses dont catch on in the Deep South;. I’d hate to all of a sudden lose our linebacker talent.

As farmer has said, there are loads of great defensive line talent in Texas year in, year out. There is no issue at all there. Just the linebacker position has been destroyed

Goddamnit, are we back to being 3 Star U again?!?! That said I’ll take a Florida on over a tx 4* almost every time, but his offer list is shite. Welcome aboard?

I’ve heard the kid is a player, but has qualification concerns, which is why the major Florida schools haven’t offered yet. I don’t really know, though.
