well the only one I actually mentioned specifically was obama's influence on healthcare, so let's start there.
OK.
This may seem like an odd place to start at first but....may I ask if you have car insurance?
Posted on 5/17/18 at 2:32 pm to Jefferson Dawg
I'm a law abiding white man so yes I have car insurance.

eh, I can see how they can be useful
You can have them there for accident investigation, but you can't use them to write tickets to people running yellow lights.

OK, great.
And may I ask what company insures your car, and how much your annual premium is?
Posted on 5/17/18 at 3:05 pm to Jefferson Dawg
Cost is $1,050 per year (split in half made in 2 payments in Jan and June). Is company relevant?

Suppsoedly, they are only triggered when a vehicle crosses the stop line after the light has already turned red. I can attest that, based on my own driving habits, this appears to be true.

I’m trying to show you things and let you figure out what’s relevant on your own. Think of me as the Ghost of Obama-mas Future.
You can just make up an Insurance company name if you don’t want to say the real one.
Posted on 5/17/18 at 3:45 pm to Jefferson Dawg
Can I pick the name?
Megadynacorp Insurance Consolidated inc.
MICI pronounced Mickey.

Cool. Yeah let's go with MICI.

OK, great.
So, how did you end up choosing MICI for your auto insurance? (let's mix it up with some multiple choice this round...)
A) If I didn't pick MICI, I had to pay a government fine
B) I get MICI auto insurance as an employee benefit. So, my employer picked MICI, not me. I had never heard of them.
C) I shopped a few of the many private insurance companies on my own looking for the best rate and coverage, and MICI had just what I was looking for
D) I traded mimosas and weed to a bro who works at MICI for coverage
E) Other

C!
And I feel like I can see where you're going with this, but I want to see how you bring it back around to me in particular since that's what this little exercise was about.

You sound very responsible and on top of things. Moving on to the next question....
So, how much is your co-pay under that MICI insurance plan whenever you take your car in for an oil change and tire rotation?
Posted on 5/17/18 at 5:19 pm to Jefferson Dawg
***you can guess if you don't remember
Copay aka Copayment - the reduced amount you pay for the tire rotation and oil change.... which is separate from whatever your insurance company pays for this behind the scenes.
Or do you not have this arrangement?

On phone now so can't type as much
I take my car to express oil for a change and pay the exact same low rate everyone else does. Of course the stipulations of my car insurance policy don't cover oil changes so I don't see how that's relevant.
And once again, I'm incredibly anxious to see how this ties back into my own health insurance plan which is how this started.

Of course they don't??? Exactly. Of course they don't. Well done, Luke.
We're talking about "insurance" here, so why the hell would Insurance companies be involved with routine check-ups and physicals and scheduled repairs and maintenance etc that we know are going to be required as we...oops i mean, as your car lives life and ages.
You passed test, but don't get cocky. It's pretty obvious to the whole world that insurance companies aren't involved in "car-care", right?
Insurance is just there for the unexpected stuff that may or may not happen. The unexpected expensive stuff beyond our control.

WG, Be patient. We're still in the degobah system. I can't just snap my fingers and bring you out of a comma this deep or you'd just relapse and with added brain damage. This is a journey not a wind sprint.
Before we continue, please rate your level of frustration at this time....(multiple choice)
A) WHy are we still talking about car insurance?
B) I can kind of see I'm being led somewhere
C) frick you Yoda, I'm going to run into that ominous cave and pout
D) I feel like you are planting seeds in my mind, that will bear fruit later
